For once I get to watch it live. Delays just killed the party.

No rain here in SoCal now, for months before either. Nor expected next week either, hello F1?

Geez, have they nothing else to talk about other than Gasly and the recovery vehicle?! That's been the whole race discussion for the last hour. 🥱

Not even I could fill the air time they have today, and I have been accused of making folks ears bleed with constant rank chat!

So... correct me if I'm wrong, but according to the explanation I just heard, if the race starts on time and they do a few laps and then it stops and doesn't restart then they get some points. But if they have to wait for 2h 40m and then it starts and they get a few laps before they run out of time they get full points because the race wasn't red flagged and stopped. Makes perfect sense..........

Aha, genius FIA strikes again!

I am confused. So they interpreted the rules in a funny way again to make Max world champion? Or are teams too stupid to understand the rules?

I think they messed up the rules when they rewrote them after Belgium so they were ratified but weren’t what they actually intended to say, maybe read twice, sign once in future.

Yeah, the rules were interpreted as written, so no funny business, but the rules were stupid in the first place.

Amazing how the FIA seem incapable of thinking through the rules as they make them, I mean it's not as if what happened today has never happened before.

According to the article, the FIA followed the rule under the “strict” interpretation so Yes, the teams’ understanding was obviously wrong. Even for Red Bull. They “overlooked” aspects of the rule.

When a “law” or “rule” is passed, usually a corollary IRR (implementing rules & regulations) is needed to further discuss this law.
