I guess after winning, Checo was deemed worthy of his own Dark Lord. 😜

Stewards will decide about a possible safety car procedure infriction by Sergio after the race… total shambles

What a joke.

Probably offered him a 20% discount...

So apparently the FIA have delayed the budget nonsense until Monday.... but they claim the rumours are unfounded and maybe Red Bull haven't broken the rules. I can't wait to see what the FIA do if one of the teams have broken the rules, they are traditionally spectacularly useless at punishing people who win anything - sure they 'threw Michael Schumacher out' of the 1997 season*, but he finished second and no one really believes they would have done that if he'd won. But they can't afford to set a precedent where a team can cheat and accept the punishment as collateral damage...

Can't help thinking it's been put back to Monday so as not to overshadow the Japanese GP and then give max time before the next race...

*Well, threw out..... but he kept all his race wins so big deal.

So what would they do if RB did overspend? Are they really gonna strip Max of the title? They are in a really difficult position with Max so far in front this year they could give him 100point penalty and he would still be in with a very good chance. Also Perez would need a penalty too as he benefitted and of course the team. But then if they were thrown out of the WCC for 2022 wouldn't that mean they get maximum wind tunnel time for 2023?

So difficult, but they HAVE to make it so the teams can't think it's 'worth' it. Like say didn't punish the driver but they did punish the team, some teams might say that's fine we only care about the WDC anyway and we don't need the money from the WCC (Ferrari)

So with the budget confirmations on Monday (well....who knows), if Max wins the race and takes fastest lap then he is the 2022 champ. If there was a penalty in the offing surely it would have been better to deliver it before he (possibly) took the title? Does that suggest there is no penalty for RB?

I think they are too chicken to give any penalties that have any actual impact. Maybe they remove 50 points from RB in the constructors championship?

And by the way, is it even confirmed that RB did go way over budget? People treating rumours as if they are true?

Totally not proven, and Merc are going to look pretty stupid if not.

WDC points is not going to work. Guaranteed Ferrari would take a WCC penalty to make LeClerc champion and the FIA know this. So IF there is a material overspend then either RB would face massive sanctions for next year or Max is a 1 time WDC. But yes, you are right, the FIA is totally useless at penalties for 'winning' teams.... and let's not forget Ferraris very dodgy 2019 'penalty/not penalty'...

Let’s be careful guys. The Age of Fake (SocMed) News is upon us. And whether it is true or not, people has passed judgement already (even without the facts). Let’s just wait for it. And people will still agree (or disagree) with what the FIA will say.

For sure it is just being used to discredit further Max's 2022 championship... without basis in fact.
