·It wasnt if but when Checo got the elbow, sure his replacement has been thought out carefully, by management and Max, at least I hope so.

·Maybe they think it's better to keep Yuki where he is? And maybe it's better for him too... he's a bit hot headed and I imagine he would struggle with the mental side of trying to beat Max.

Agreed.
To be honest - I think that's what holds Yuki back. He's fast, but he's not yet .... matured.
Lawson has (from what i've seen/heard anyway), shown a much more mature attitude and that has probably boosted his image in the eyes of the Red Bull decision makers.

·Perhaps Lawson has youth on his side in that he hasn’t ‘settled’ into a style or preference and so can still adapt to a nose or tail happy car?

·Thinking about it they’ll all need youthful drivers with the way the seasons calendar is growing, there soon won’t be any free weekends.
