Once the confidence gets a dent it’s a slippery slope-downward-and difficult to stop, Lewis could always start up a fashion design business.
Yes with his undeniable taste and style it is bound to happen

Great race; seems like Max is unstoppable at this point.

Mercedes could have gotten the upper hand and possibly the win if not for the late safety car which was snatched from Hamilton and atleast a podium. (Abu Dhabi DeJaVu? 😗 )Great timing from Max, Russel and Charles to change to the softs and take the late charge. I feel bad for Hamilton but it is what it is. Fortunately no late dramas. I guess he has alot of those trophies anyway. 😉

I actually feel bad for Lewis too. Strange that once he’d stayed out on mediums that they didn’t make George do the same to provide some defence. Once max was in second he was a sitting duck really although I didn’t expect him to be overtaken on the first straight after the restart.

Safety cars ruin races. I've mentioned my hatred of them before, but I still think it's ridiculous they can end up making such a huge difference to races - they can't be predicted and they either eliminate hard fought gap advantages built up through many laps on the track (bunching the pack), or by timing of deployment (meaning some people have time to decide whether to pit but others have to make the decision in a split second or miss the opportunity entirely).

That's racing. For better or worse. Over a season the advantages and disadvantages ought to cancel out.

That said, this season Red Bull and Max certainly seem to have absolutely the best combo of man & machine; and i can only assume that Checo is simply not as fast as Max, or that their style of driving is different enough that the car's design favours Max and not Checo.

Lewis must've been having flashbacks.... ridiculous not to stop as clearly Max would.

It's always a bit weird when you have a superstar driver getting paid a shedload of cash, being outperformed - or even just not convincingly beating someone who is getting paid probably a fifth of the money.... (I don't know what George is getting but Hamilton's wage is ridiculous).

You can imagine the MB board asking why they need to pay Lewis so much when George seems very much up to the job...

World Champions get paid way way more than their non Champion teammates. Whether they perform better or not in that year. It’s not just about performance and results for these guys. It’s their name, their experience, the sponsorships they bring to the team. They have a package and “brand” already. Don’t we pay huge amount of money for “luxury” watches also eventhough the Seiko/Grand Seiko next to it performs better 😉

Ferrari’s problems go way more than their mind-boggling team strategies and failed pitstops 😲😲

No point a WC bringing in big lumps of sponsor money if it all goes out on their wages? Some drivers could easily get by! on their own personal sponsors offering’s.
Personally I’d have a GS over many of the luxury brands, maybe it’s because I’m tight but to brand names don’t mean big prices or attract me, function over form.

All true, but at the same time, if you are 'the man' then you need to perform... Sebastian Vettel's 4 WDCs carried him a long way, but it seems like finally his star has burned out. Quite embarrassing that a 4 time WDC leaves the sport at such a low ebb. I'm sure Lewis won't be tootling around at the back. He came in at the top and will leave pretty close (having never driven a bad car, as I'm sure Fernando will constantly remind him)
