Yep. I suspect Charles knows that Ferrari won’t play the switcheroo on current form, so if Carlos gets the jump he’ll get preference on strategy etc.

At some point they need to get decisive. They have spent so much time in recent races fannying around that they are losing ground.

Absolutely brilliant race by Max and RB today. Simply unstoppable 🙄
Not even an out there scenario.
Very happy to see Merc stealing points from Ferrari 😁

Everybody struggling on hard tyres all weekend. Alpine struggling on hard tyres in the race. Even amateur race fans reading motorsport news know that hard tyres is a terrible idea this weekend. Hmmm, lets put Charles on the hard tyres to ensure his victory!

Yes, what Ferrari did to Leclerc is… 🤦
Sainz didn’t have the pace to win or to beat the Mercedes and Max, but Leclerc was going to win this race without that early stop for the hard tyres. And not happy enough with one big mistake, Ferrari made a 2nd mistake calling him for a 3rd pit stop (for softs), which made him lose yet another position, with Checo 🤦.

Max did a great recovery (even being lucky with his 360°!), and also Lewis. Not a bad race by George either!

Checo (without third Leclerc’s pit stop) was going to finish 6th, so he is -again- in another league vs Max…

😀 Very happy to see both Mercedes-AMG again on the podium, this time not thanks to DNF or penalties of some Ferrari or RBR, but beating both Ferrari and one of the RBR on track, which is a big improvement (together with the Pole) vs the previous races 👍
It’s the 2nd consecutive double podium for the Silver Arrows, and 5th consecutive podium for Lewis in the worst season in ten years for the team, so it’s not so bad 😉

That is a huge surprise! It feels like Alonso will whoop Stroll's ass any day of the week?? Or maybe daddy Stroll plans to give Alonso an inferior package to ensure kiddo beats another world champion?

Alonso brings his famous half a second.... wonder if Alpine didn't want to commit to him, sounds like he's on a multi year deal.
Hard to believe he won his WDCs 16 years ago!

Is the Aston any better than the Alpine? Not really setting the world alight with results.

I find it interesting that Ocon is described as 'explosive', when they interview him he always comes across like the nicest guy in the world.

Why doesn't Charles give his opinion on tire choice during the race? He's part of the team, isn't he? I hope he shows his teeth after the break. Also to his team!
