This kid must be epic, McLaren would have to pay DR off, and presumably pay Alpine off too...

Ricciardo back to Alpine?
Seems a reasonable assumption. Personally I’d love to see someone like Jamie Chadwick given a seat of sorts. She’s too good for the W series…..

From this we can conclude that Stroll is a WDC in waiting?
Yes! According to this, in 19 years he will have made all the drivers on the grid retire, and then he will win the Championship because he will be racing alone! 😲

Are you sure? Did it not say that the kid had not yet signed a renewal with Alpine?

And for McLaren, makes sense to cut your losses and pay a little fine to get rid of a driver ruining their chances to fight higher up in the championship.

Is it a reasonable assumption though, now that Ricciardo has proven in two teams that he aint worth the high price tag? Maybe Alpine get desperate and make him a low bargain offer and buys him cheap for a 1 year deal before they find a a proper driver?

But it does go on to say that maybe there was a cut off date of 31st Aug.... perhaps, maybe. Either way. Pretty stupid way to start your F1 career, he should learn from Alonso's mistakes.

That does seem odd indeed, spoilt brat thinking he runs the game already. Would seem to be a smart move to do two years for Alpine, show he rocks and then take offers from other teams.

ricciardo on a one year gig might make sense. He has proved he can do it at least when he gets the right package, and as you say it buys them some time to find someone else…..

One thing for sure, Ricc is taking a HUGE paycut somewhere... would Alpine want him back? They were pretty miffed when he left. Then again, there's not a lot of good drivers out there, since Ricciardo isn't one anymore

That old violent team boss has left Alpine so perhaps they dont hold a grudge anymore. But isn't it also a good revenge to offer him 5% of what they payed him last time?

He'd be lucky to get 5%. I hear Williams need someone to support Albon

Although he often seems like a petulant child, Norris seems like a potential future champion. No wonder Zak wants to hold onto him.

Maybe Ricciardo can use money out of his own pockets to buy a seat in williams 😁
