That’s just part of the story though @Aquagraph.
Just look at the number of consecutive championships over the last decades. It’s been worse than today, but it’s increasingly systemic. Yes in the old days the gaps were bigger but the field was a lot more diverse. And cars were far less reliable. It wasn’t just about the fastest guy in the fastest machine.

Yeah, I must admit they really need to address the problem of one team winning for 5+ years in a row, because it's really boring and to be honest I think it undermines the value of being a multiple WDC. Vettel being a perfect example, 4 titles but no one actually wants him, whereas Alonso only won two... and it's that 'only' won two that irks me. Winning two WDCs should be a big deal, but with Schumacher on 7, Hamilton on 6 and Vettel on 4 it just isn't! I guess it could be worse, John Force has won the NHRA funny car title 16 times, admittedly not 16 in a row, I think he won it 9 or 10 times in a row though.

I do think it's to the point now where you need to win titles with at least two different teams to 100% justify your greatness. Or at least come within spitting distance of doing that (Alonso).

Yeah, but even then... if you drive two dominant cars instead of one, what's the difference? Say Vettel had left Red Bull and gone to Mercedes... if we assume he's better than Rosberg it would be reasonable to assume he'd have won at least 7 WDCs by now. But he didn't and nobody wants him.

Then again, McLaren and Williams won every WDC bar two (1995/1996) from 1984 until 1999... but at least it wasn't six in a row.

It’s been Hamilton against teammate for the title since forever. The rest are out of contention.

Which wouldn't matter so much if he had a teammate he needed to fight against... like Prost/Senna for example. But F1 avoids that at all costs these days, except when a youngster like LeClerc (or indeed Hamilton) shows up and refuses to play the game.

Different sport and rallying doesn’t often seem processional? Not all driving the perfect line and 100% grip, or 4wheels on the ground, plus of course no (well not often) run off areas.

Leaving aside the fact that Stroll looks like the incredible Hulk from the 70s TV show, if we're honest, Stroll isn't the worst pay driver in F1 history and it's not as if Perez is crushing him to dust. Or are we going to play the 'Racing Point' are sabotaging Perez to make Stroll look good game? Most F1 drivers come from rich families or have some sort of sugar daddy, I think this is going to get worse though - especially if Vettel takes Perez seat (fair enough I would pick Perez too).

I suppose he actually had to get a super racing licence in the first place so he can't be completely terrible as a driver.

Another record for Lewis Hamilton after winning 8 times (equaled with Schumacher) the same GP in Hungary, also achieving another Grand Chelem! 👍

So shall we just give Merc the WCC trophy now - they already have twice as many points as Red Bull. Who would have put Ferrari 5th?

Watched the highlights on Sky1 last night, one or two good moves but, we’ll interest draining quickly even only watching just the highlights? Don’t think I could do a full coverage live programme.
I did mention doing a trackday again to herself and she didn’t say no quite so definitely, got tyres on the last legs and it’s the only way to get any action at our local circuit.
