I whole-heartedly agree on this sir! His mistakes are signs of his aging & probably past his peak. But i do hope he can give Hamilton some nerve wracking battle if he switches to Mercedes. I feel that part of Bottas’ contract is to play second to Hamilton, sadly.. :(

Vettel v Hamilton in the same car.... never gonna happen. Unfortunately, these days drivers seem massively unwilling to race each other in the same equipment as it damages their 'value' if they lose. See Ricciardo fleeing Red Bull for Renault, which made no sense except that he didn't want to race Max in the same car - especially when it was pretty clear that Max was Red Bull's priority - and let's face it Red Bull has 'form' for that with Vettel/Webber.

I agree. Hamilton was beating Vettel even in some races where Ferrari was more competitive than Mercedes...

During these last two years, Vettel was “cracking under pressure”: making many mistakes, and being moraly destroyed by Hamilton, and last year also by Leclerc... Some people says Sainz could go to Ferrari, so maybe Vettel could swap team with Sainz. We have to remember that McLaren will be again powered by Mercedes in 2021... so this is maybe his only good option, or retirement

There’s no need of this contract part (this part did exist in Ferrari with Schumacher and his second drivers Irvine, Barrichello, Massa): Hamilton is winning the titles by himself, not by team orders or contracts. Bottas is free to race Hamilton from the start of the season, and in fact Bottas was taking points from Hamilton in some 2018 and 2019 races. Only after the middle (or later) of the season, if there’s only one clear candidate for the Title (who is usually Hamilton, because he is more regular and constant than Bottas), the Mercedes team is giving team orders to avoid stupid gifts to rivals, which makes sense... but Bottas is not playing second to Hamilton by contract but because of his results during the season

Nonetheless, contract or not, i still feel sad for Bottas. He is undeniably the 2nd driver, not equal, given the treatment of Mercedes to him. As F1 fans, we want to see them race right? Look at the years of Hamilton & Rosberg during the start of the turbo hybrid era. 2016, out ot 21 races, either of them won 19 GPs that year! (90.5%) Purely dominant team and racing rivalry of the two.* They didn’t win only because of DNF in the 2 other races. But i agree, given the same car with Hamilton, Bottas should’ve proven himself by now. Hamilton is just so consistent and he is truly at a master-class level!

**Only eclipsed by the 1988 McLaren team of Senna & Prost. 15 out of 16 races won! (93.8%) The only race they didn’t win is also due to DNF.

    Vettel leaves Ferrari for 2021.
Sainz leaves McLaren and joins Ferrari for a 2 year deal.
Ricciardo leaves Renault and joins McLaren at the start of the McLaren-Mercedes engine partnership.

So who is the next piece of the puzzle to move?
    And which move? ::popcorn::

I really hope the move for Ricciardo works out for him and McLaren. It has been really sad to see McLaren languishing the way they have been for the last few seasons.

Yes i do want to see McLaren fight and mixed up the top 3. The gap is just huge after the top 3 teams. All the other race car drivers were just battling out for the, “best of the rest”

    McLaren has won
    8 Constructor Championships
    12 Driver Championships

    TEAM Championships
    McLaren-Honda - 4 (1988-1991)
    McLaren-TAG (Porsche) - 2 (1984-1985)
    McLaren-Ford (Cosworth) - 1 (1974)
    McLaren-Mercedes - 1 (1999)

So far, ALL the years they’ve won a constructor championship, at the same time, their drivers also won that year’s championship,

Yes, McLaren is doing two nice improvements for 2021: Ricciardo for Sainz, and Mercedes for Renault, so it should be competitive again.

Being McLaren my second favourite team after Mercedes, I’m very happy to see again a McLaren-Mercedes in 2021, remembering great times and the 1998, 1999, and 2008 Titles with Hakkinen and Hamilton!

I still remember Senna curbing it to let Berger and Alboretto through for a Ferrari 1-2. At Monza no less! Reality serves up better drama than script writers ever could!

Late to the party to comment on this, but that footage is beautiful, mesmerising. The framing and the angles are better than anything a modern day CGI-enhanced movie could ever achieve.

From a business perspective, I can understand why companies who invest millions of sponsorship capital - marketing in F1 teams would like to go to “winning” / “successful” partners. But then again, we have also seen that there are alot of “shady” sponsors roaming in F1 capitalizing worldwide exposure / publicity (eg Rich Energy etc)

From a Formula 1 fan perspective, I hope Williams as a team can push thru with F1 even without a big company sponsor backing them up. Need to show more grit, outwit and sheer passion to be back on the winning ways.

Is it true that ROKIT is already a sponsor with Mercedes-AMG?

Yeah, on top of that, Enzo had just passed away a few weeks prior to the race! That was just unreal. I recalled thinking Enzo's spirit must have been at the track that day.
