I have had the flu, it was all I could do to lie in bed and sweat for 4 days, let alone stand up, and certainly not anything energetic, 2 years later after a flu jab I was in the small percentage to suffer a reaction from it, and trust me not something I want again, once more it is an overused expression, he had a virus I suspect, best guess since I’m not a doctor, but then neither is Toto Wolfe, or Lewis.

To be fair, Lewis is superfit... but yes, generally speaking people claim flu when they mean cold.

So who do you predict will take pole position on Saturday? Think Ferrari will have the pace and reliability to qualify this time?

Hungary, another interesting circuit. Can I save a prediction until after free practice?

This track should fit the Mercedes and Red Bull more than the Ferrari, so my prediction is Mercedes on Pole (Hamilton) with Max
second or third, and the first Ferrari on 4th position

You are probably right but for the sake of the championship I hope that Ferrari can be strong this weekend

I wonder how recent championships would have turned out if a “drop score” system was employed, say dropping the worst 4 scores from a season, I can’t remember if it was ever employed in F1 though.
It might keep interest a bit longer some years.

There was something like that in the era with Senna and Prost, I think only the best ten results counted.

Max gets pole.::psy::
My wife are often mistaken as Dutch on holiday, even the Dutch and Belgians at the last car club meeting confirmed we ‘look’ Dutch! So therefore Max supporters.

Well Max is Dutch but his mom is Belgian and he grew up there. After the parent’s divorce he moved to the netherlands with his dad. His mom is an accomplished racer as well.

Another great race, and what a victory for Lewis Hamilton and the Silver Arrows! 😀

A 2nd pit stop for Medium tyres for Hamilton when nobody expected it, followed by an incredible chase with Hamilton making fastest laps, lap by lap... and the strategy worked!

Hamilton and Mercedes are now leading both championships with even more points of advantage (Ferrari was very far from the victory in this track, but will be stronger in faster circuits like Spa or Monza), and Max is now very close to Bottas, and clearly ahead of both Ferrari drivers. Well done Max and Red Bull!

I find Lewis's engineer the most unbearable person in F1, he has his tongue so far up Lewis' jacksie you can practically see it coming out of his throat. "Oh Lewis you are so amazing, only you could have made that work....", in this instance you have to say Lewis drove very well, but on other days he has lucked into wins and THAT GUY still has to praise him like a God, is it in his contract or something?

Great strategy from Merc, kind of guessed it would end that way, Max's tyres were always going to be shot by the end. Definitely not the case that only Lewis could have made that work, I'm guessing Max could have made it work for a start!

Avoided all media today as I had to watch it delayed. Great race and Mercedes sure won on strategy. There was no overtaking Max on equal tyres so they had nothing to lose. Merc’s slight speed advantage was magnified with the fresh mediums. And then Max coming in and taking home the extra point, in effect squeezing off 2 points in the championship. Looking forward to Francorchamps!

Very sad news from Spa-Francorchamps... F2 driver Anthoine Hubert (22 years old) died in a fatal crash during the race today 🙁

RIP Anthoine

I caught a bit of coverage yesterday, the camera panned as bit of cars covered the track, surprised the other driver wasn’t was hurt worse than he was, very sad weekend, a future talent lost.

Interesting race for a sad weekend at Spa-Francorchamps...

Being one of the best race tracks for Ferrari (as it should be Monza), 2nd and 3rd was not a bad result at all for the Silver Arrows: just 5 points less advantage (now 145) in the Constructors standings, and Hamilton is more leader, with 65 points to Bottas. Max is still in third position in spite of his DNF, but Bottas takes some advantage in the battle for the 2nd position

As Charles Leclerc was a very close friend of Anthoine Hubert, winning his first F1 race was a nice tribute 👍
