Final standings of the 2019 season, after Abu Dhabi

I’m happy with Max being in the podium of the 2019 Championship together with Hamilton and Bottas  Max did a brilliant job beating both Ferrari drivers in this final race and in the final standings.

Hamilton and the Mercedes-AMG team were in another league this race and this year as a whole. What a great season for the Silver Arrows! The points advantage is huge!

Completely agree! I think both of them could make it to become World champions.

According to this site, these are the top 5 F1 rivalries:
    • Rivalry #5 - Nigel Mansell vs. Nelson Piquet. ...
    • Rivalry #4 - Mika Hakkinen vs. Michael Schumacher. ...
    • Rivalry #3 - Niki Lauda vs. James Hunt. ...
    • Rivalry #2 - Lewis Hamilton vs. Sebastian Vettel. ...
    • Rivalry #1 - Ayrton Senna vs. Alain Prost.

I strongly disagree with Hamilton vs. Vettel as #2.

For me, the ranking should be:
    1. Senna vs. Prost
    2. Lauda vs. Hunt
After that, it doesn't matter. Lots of great rivalries, but I think only a few are the stuff of legends.

And from the 30’s, the time of the Grand Prix, another legendary rivalry was:

Rudolf Caracciola (Mercedes-Benz) vs. Bernd Rosemeyer (Auto Union)

I agree, I wouldn't even call it a rivalry. One of them had the best car - won 4 WDCs in a row. Then the other one had the best car - won 5 WDCs in 6 years...

Although I’d argue Hamilton had the closest competition in all of those championships compared to when Vettel walked it in the Red Bull.
Hamilton’s challenges have mostly come from within his own team in the past several years. 2018 & 2019 saw Ferrari make too many mistakes as a team as well as the drivers to bring their challenge to full fruition.
