·Looks like the poor bloke has a broken back (4 vertebra, no surgery likely) and severely broken heel (surgery needed), for anyone watching the video Peter is the bloke going up the back.
Have to admire his courage keeping the boot in through the dust, Kimi did the same a decade ago at Spa and got lucky, people commended him for the balls that showed. Peter did the same but didn't get lucky.
Thanks for the information, dsio. Injuries are hard enough to take him a lot of time. But in the meantime I could calm down
a lot learning that there is no traumatic brain injury. I think, this
is the worst that can happen to a driver and his family/friends.
In 1992 my sister had a bad accident with a 130 hp motorcycle
at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. She survived by pure accident
because there was a doctor (driving his sportscar) who demanded a helicopter to take her to hospital. But in the following months the family got tenths of years older. Sometimes the charakter of people changes a lot after such an accident.
Therefore I decided to retire from motorsports ( not motorracing). I had the Impression that my patente could bot
stand such a situaton Inge more. In the meantime my parents do not live
any longer, and I don't want my family to pray for me in hospital.
Despite all this, we still are fans of motorracing. Don't know why.
Your ideas/thanks for understanding
