3-grid positions for Bottas, for not respecting single yellow flags… so how many positions for Max, for not respecting double yellow flags? 🍿

Five!
It makes sense: double yellow vs single yellow

Convenient. Won’t change the outcome most probably. Will be a lewis 1, Max 2 unless they get caught up in firts turns incidents. Valtteri won’t be able to hold Max back eventhough his car is much faster. At least we’ll get to see a few overtakes.

Max was never going to win from 7th unless something 'happened' and still 8 points in front. Bloody ridiculous that it took them so long to issue the penalty though..

😀 #QatarGP

Great recovery by Max from 7th to 2nd in very few laps, but Lewis & Mercedes were in another league in Qatar. Dominance in Quali and also in race pace. Great momentum for them in Brasil and Qatar… which I hope will continue during next two races 🙄 The 8th Title is still possible! What a season!

Maybe if the FIA hadn't changed the track limit from the white line to the outer edge of the kerb (because apparently the 'best' drivers in the world can't actually keep it on the track) then Gasly wouldn't have trashed his wing, Max wouldn't have got a penalty and maybe he could have had a go in the first corner. So, well done FIA, you've prolonged the championship nicely.

With Max starting 2nd from the dirty side of the track it was highly unlikely that he would be able to attack Lewis. On the other hand, Bottas could make a better start than Max from third position.

Mercedes had better race pace than Red Bull in Qatar, so it could have been a 1-2 for Mercedes if not for that penalty that left Bottas 6th on the dirty side, and that led him to make a disastrous start that conditioned his race, and going so long in his first stop, that in the end it cost him the puncture and the DNF.

So I think in any case the grid sanctions ended up helping Max and Red Bull… also this article:

Bell & Ross on overalls, Richard Mille on wrist...
2 marketing strategies in 1 😉

Bell & Ross, a French watch company based in Paris with manufacturing in Switzerland.

Richard Mille, a Frenchman whose namesake watch company is based in Switzerland.

presented in a French Formula 1 team 😉

Maybe, but that relies on Bottas staying within 25 secs of the leaders. Not 100% sure he would have done that.

I think with Bottas on a one-stop strategy (although with a not so long first stint 😵‍💫), it was possible to be within that gap of the leaders

But a one stop strategy was a no no given the tyre situation...
