The problem with modern F1 is that when one team has the BEST car they almost never have two 'equal' team mates, like no one would say that about Prost or Senna in 1988 for example. But then you can see why the team would rather have a 'Hamilton' and a 'Bottas', it's not good for the fans/sport but it's a lot less stressful for the team. Plus look what happened in 2007, Kimi won a title he never should have won because Alonso and Hamilton were taking points off each other. Where is the upside for the team?

Simply lovely!

Lets just hope Hamilton doesn't mess it all up for them both again!

Hamilton is chasing so can’t afford the status quo, that is the sensible approach in biding his time, but then again I don’t know many truly sensible race drivers.😉
I might even stay up late to watch this, but first the BTCC finale today.

It was thrilling, nerve wrecking last 10 laps.
Lewis was quicker, although he claims RB were. The race was decided on strategy. A simple undercut did the trick only because Merc allowed it to happen, they were in control. They should have called Lewis in right after Max or keep him on track long enough for the medium tyre. This was something in between which didn't play out well. RB's decision to call in Checo right after Max is a strange one as well. He was in no mans land for the rest of the race and couldn't help Max. I would have expected RB to call Checo in for a hot lap near the end of the race, trying to pinch the fastest lap from Lewis. Every point matters.

Yep, but the constructors is tight also (and arguably more important for the team) and to get the one from Lewis they’d have dropped 3 by losing 3rd to leclerc so I can understand why they didn’t.

it’s going to be a great end to the season

I realize that but I don’t believe RB are more interested in the constructor’s title than the WC for Max.

Memory of the day must be Alonso's middle finger to the judges by overtaking Gionazi off the track just to prove a point 😁
