What a terrible race. I hate rain races and seeing the championship battle yet again turn in hamilton's favour based on luck rather than on a fair fight and battle on the track. Well I suppose Bottas served his purpose this time, in his role as second driver supporting hamilton 🙄

No way Bottas meant that accident. Was just a lack of talent. He wasn't the only one to brake too late into that first corner either. Hamilton was stone dead last after the restart so you could argue his luck evened out somewhat.

Yeah sure a bit I suppose but he got no fight from Max whose car was completely f-ed up. (And the Merc is so superior to the other cars so despite putting himself in last position he ended up on the podium)

He sure did 😁 gotta keep Wolff happy
Did he do enough to secure his seat for next year? The deal was probably if he took Perez and Max out, but he did well enough...

Driver of the day - Alonso, hands down!
Amazing drive I agree but what about Ocon? He held off Vettell all race. Granted it wasn't as exciting a battle, and the race producer mainly focused on Hamilton's charge.

Yes he did very well, but... without Alonso running interference Hamilton would have caught and passed both of them, so Ocon would've been second at absolute best. A lot of people owe Fernando a great deal today; Max, Vettel, Ocon etc etc...

Yup Alonso was awesome. He has been driving great this season, always tough in wheel to wheel battles

Seb was summoned to the stewards for wearing his pro-gay t-shirt during the national anthem. Because we support blacks, but not gays, and especially not in a European country with a far right government.🙄

Didn't they change the rules or something for this season though? Prohibiting political clothing and messages after Hamilton wore all kinds of crazy shit last year e.g a t-shirt stating that a police officer should he put in jail?

Valtteri Bottas and Lance Stroll have been handed a five-place grid drops for the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix after the stewards in Budapest found them both to blame for causing avoidable collisions on the opening lap of the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Charles Leclerc was hugely disappointed after his Hungarian Grand Prix lasted no further than the first corner of the first lap – and insisted blame lay 100% with Lance Stroll for the Lap 1 crash that put them both out of the race, describing the ensuing mayhem as being akin to a "bowling game".

aaaah yes, always gets me in a better mood seeing Stroll doing his thing. (Sorry @Yago I know you're a huge number one fan of Stroll 😉)

Only now saw the race. Boy oh boy how unlucky can Max be. Two DNFs beyond his control already and now a still miraculous 2 point finish, also not on him. Pretty amazing he’s only 6 points behind after all that. I hope his luck will turn, he must feel so frustrated.
Perhaps Merc should consider entering stock car racing.

Hamilton is the luckiest son of a bitch alive.
He looked terrible in the post-race interview and on the podium, though. He sounded out of breath and like he was about to collapse. I was quite worried for him. Will long covid affect the rest of his season? I hope not, but I have first-hand experience of chronic fatigue and how it can affect you.
