I'm curious to know what the penalty will be for pitstops that are 'too fast'... that's going to be some grade A bullshit isn't it?
How can you tell the average punter 'look how awesome F1 is they are so fast, even the pitstops are fast as hell, less than two seconds to change the tyres' and then go, oh actually no sorry guys, that pitstop was 0.015 too fast you are going to have 5 seconds added to your time.

😒 Keep up man!

The evil Mercedes empire have convinced the FIA that Red Bull's sub two second pitstops are 'dangerous' and so they now have to leave a gap of 0.2 seconds or something from the wheel gunners raising their arms to giving the driver the green light to go. Absolute cobblers! How they are supposed to measure this is anyone's guess.

The issue is simple: the pit stop regulations indicate that everything must be done manually, and the times that Red Bull achieves make one suspect that they use automatisms between the sensors of the guns and the green light signal, since the reaction times are inferior to what a human being can achieve. It is about preventing or confirming that they cheat. It is about making the pit stop faster but within the regulations.

When you win with a big margin you do not worry much about others cheating, but when you do not win, if you suspect that whoever is beating you is cheating, it is very logical to ask for clarification... it is not about being naive either! Mercedes was already banned from the DAS in 2021 (which was legal), and the 2021 regulation changes in aerodynamics have clearly hurt them more than Red Bull, so it is normal that they do not want to be teased if they suspect that Red Bull is cheating, taking into account how the championship is now

That has always happened in F1, as it is the most professional championship. And the team in front is always the most analyzed and investigated by the rest of the teams, rather than by the FIA.

These previous years it was Mercedes who received accusations from other teams, as with the DAS, and now it is Red Bull the team that attracts all the attention. Nothing new, nothing different. This is F1, not an amateur trophy with gentleman drivers

If Merc can’t do the pit stop as quick as others they need to work harder at it, or, let's dump pit stops altogether and make tyres last a race distance, no questions on wether the wheels are properly then.
Large bunches of sour grapes from Toto and crew.

Just watched the qualifying highlights. Not a great day for Mercedes, but absolutely fantastic to see McLaren on the front row again. Excellent drive from Lando. But where is the other McLaren? 😀

Also, amazing performance from George Russell to get that Williams into Q3 and 9th place on the grid!
