Lovely race today! Happy for Max, Carlos and Lando.

That Gulf livery McLaren is incredible. Really enjoyed seeing Max wear the new Monaco Chronograph.

McLaren should continue on with this Gulf livery 👍 Gives instant recognition, seems like a lucky charm and also strikes a fear to thier rivals 😉

I really wish McLaren would keep this livery, it looks so much better, but I don't think they will.

Ricciardo's inability to adapt to the McLaren is mystifying, especially at Monaco. Daniel was able to outpace Vettel at RB and was a match for Max, so to see him struggling next to Lando is quite disappointing.

I'd really like to see DR do better despite not being a native Aussie. Daniel is such a likeable person and a clearly talented driver, he deserves at least a podium in the driver's championship, IMO.

The best thing about this race was a podium for McLaren. 😀

The best thing about this race is that all podium winners are former and current TAG Heuer/Heuer Formula 1 teams 👍👍👍

I still follow the sport. But I find myself falling asleep if I try to watch a race in its entirety. I just don't find it that exciting any more and don't have a favorite driver to root for. In all honesty, after the riveting era of Senna, Prost & Mansell, I was already losing interest during Schumacher's reign.

I'm old enough to remember this era, but when you watch back old races, it's amazing how often there would be like maybe 6 cars on the lead lap at the end... and that's on a good day. Maybe part of it was the uncertainty of the race, cars would crash or explode at the drop of a hat then, so you couldn't relax just because you have a 40 second lead, nowadays the minute a sensor shows a possibility of an inkling of a problem its 'box box box'. Statistically the Merc reign has been worse than the Ferrari/Schumi years, but I don't honestly think it's been anything like as boring.

Albert must be drowning his sorrows
I was too pissed off after the race... 🫨😁

Gasly did a great teamwork with Red Bull, blocking Hamilton behind him and resisting his undercut, which caused Hamilton to lose two more places to Vettel and Pérez... 👎

A shame that all the advantage hard earned by Mercedes and Hamilton after four races was lost in only one 🙁, but Monaco was the worst place to be lost with the settings on Saturday, as the possibility of coming back in the race was minimal. Despite everything, the Mercedes car was not bad there, as Bottas would have finished second without the hub problem... just this time Bottas managed to make the tyres work better than Hamilton on Saturday, when the opposite is usually the case.

In any case, congratulations to Max and Red Bull. In the Grand Prix sponsored by TAG Heuer, the team sponsored by TAG Heuer wins 👍... but in Baku, I hope Hammertime will return 😉

After five races, only four points difference between Max and Hamilton, and only 1 point between Red Bull and Mercedes… this could not be more disputed! 🍿

Oh to be a fly on the wall during the Mercedes post race debrief? Just watched the highlights? and sorry guys, wouldn’t miss this race off the calendar, in fact I think the formula E I saw yesterday had more interest.

The best thing about this race are the on-board cameras, because the sensation of speed and risk is spectacular… but yesterday's race was really boring, one more year. It is a parade of cars unable to overtake on the track even though they are clearly faster than the car in front. A race that is decided on Saturday, or due to mechanical failures...

Ditto sir 👍 As I have said previously (click me), F1 teams obviously were fiercely competing during qualifying and will do everything to get track position in Monaco 😗 Ashame Leclerc wasn’t able to start in his home race, heartbreaking. Whether his “accident” was intentional or not, we will truly never know, but life has taught him a good lesson, and he learned it the hard way 😉

Indeed, the glamour, almost (Stroll went flying at least twice) zero margin for error and crazy onboard speeds make this great to watch eventhough there’s hardly a pass besides undercuts. Strangely one of only a few GPs without a safety car. Maybe that would have resulted in more pressure or even a pass left or right.

My take is he knew there fast guys still on a lap that could result in pole and he was going for it to try and improve and hold on to that position, if he wanted to bring out a red there were ways he could have achieved that with less damage methinks?

I don't think it was deliberate, at all. What really surprised me was that Mazepin and Tsunoda managed to complete the race without trashing their cars. I was expecting one of them to trash Max's race somehow

The current racing has little to do with my enthusiasm or lack of it.

I think the 80s had the perfect storm of legendary drivers, legendary commentators (Murray Walker & James Hunt) and television/cable network technology advancing to the point where I could watch all the races in a season. I've followed the the sport since the 70s but had to rely on the newspaper & magazines for race reports back then. The only races that were televised in the US were the Monaco GP, the US GP and Canadian GP. That all changed sometime in the mid-80s and I could finally watch all the races with great interest. Plus the cars looked gorgeous back then.

But now days, it's the same old same old. Moreover, not having a current driver or team that I really want to root for leaves me little incentive to watch a race end to end. Much easier to just catch the race highlights afterwards.
