Watching the highlights again, I have to say I think Bottas was completely blameless... his only move was to the left when he saw Russell was there. George should probably keep his mouth shut, I don't think his 'talent' is anywhere near proven yet. He seems to think he can be like Max, but Max gets away with being Max because he's fast as f**k.

What do you guys think of Sprint Qualifying on a Saturday? I think things will be more exciting 馃嵖

The argument against is that the cars will sort themselves into 'speed order' and there won't be any overtaking in the race.... on the other hand, the lower cars have less to lose so might try to take some risks to get a better grid spot. I reckon we'll have three trials and then it will disappear.

Not too keen on points for the sprint race, if this was every weekend it would just help the 'dominating' driver win the WDC sooner.

Hard to say this since we all know what can happen in a race. I鈥檓 still looking forward to this. Who doesn鈥檛 want an exciting race right? Let鈥檚 see first. We will never know until we see it happen 馃榾

I find the FP1, FP2, FP3 quite boring to be honest. Year in and year out, they know the same tracks already, 3 practices? Not too enticing for viewers. They also have simulation already. What more do they need? It鈥檚 basically just making two Free Practices, one FP converted to a grid for sprint qualifying. Then Sprint qualifying result for Race Grid on Sunday. It just means F1 wants to be relevant on a 3 day weekend and not just on Race Day Sunday 馃憤

Conversely, It will be much harder for the team if something became eventful. So it also means team staff preparation will also have more effect on race results, rather than usually, just driver and racecar 馃槈

It will be interesting to see how they approach it. Will they take risks or will they just pootle around protecting their position. Also, what if they absolutely destroy the car in the sprint race...

I actually wonder, if the sprint race turns out to be really good, might they bring up the idea of 2 shorter GPs again?

I find the sprint and feature race of F2 to be quite exciting, even if I don鈥檛 know most of them. It鈥檚 just great to see young guns slug it out wheel to wheel with nothing but only their driving skills & guts 馃憤馃憤

(F2 cars are mostly the same across all teams) 馃槈

I have seen an article where the writer suggested lower placed teams may just start as required and then pit to save wear and against damage and costs. They鈥檙e unlikely to gain any grid advantage from taking part completely.

Was it DTM or one of the bike series that had the top 6 drawn strings for grid? Kept the fastest at the front but in a slightly mixed order. Let鈥檚 bin most of the aero and drs and get back to slipstream and over taking, oh and drop the lapped cars passing the safety car, your lapped get over it.

And that's never happened in F1 before.... PF446 has a good point here, F1 teams are always looking to pull any sneaky crap they can. Can the lower teams be compelled to qualify? Maybe they will need something akin to the 110% rule...

Not going to draw me away from other weekend activities to watch the top teams getting further away from the rest, titles possibly decided even earlier in the season, not a great idea, I wasn鈥檛 a fan of big differences between 1-2-3 places anyway, sorry to be negative but I鈥檓 still more likely to attend my local circuit and watch club racing up close.

Yes I wasnt disagreeing with him, my perfect English maybe made it sound like that. This weekend will be interesting to see. At least they test this first to evaluate, if it sucks hopefully they wont make it a permanent thing
