·I thought he was already under some kind of deal with Mercedes? Williams just keeping him in touch till he's needed and Williams get some good deal on the engines.

·I suppose this could be seen as an opportunity for Bottas. Since everyone believes Russell is taking his seat for 2022, if Bottas crushes him to dust then that might save him.

·So, Russell is fastest in FP1 and FP2. If Russell was leading and Bottas second, would Merc ask him to let Bottas through to maximise his WDC points? Would be a very unpopular move, robbing Russell of his first victory - but it would be the right thing to do given that Bottas would be expected to the do the same for Hamilton. That's always assuming he can get in front of the Red Bulls of course...
