Haha, I went to a 6hr sports car race at Brands Hatch in about 1988, when you had cameras with actual film in it. Got the film developed and most of the pictures were empty track.

The Austrian GP today was much better: Real racing is back. I hope not every result will be decided by the stewards.
Now I‘m waiting for Alonso to return and demand „his“ Honda-engine back.....

Great race by Max and the TAG Heuer power! ;)
I hope Max will be not penalized. I think he had already gained the position, and Leclerc had no place to go.

Max was in front and had the racing line, so Leclerc had to let him pass, as Bottas did with Max in his previous overtaking.

Not the best weekend for my favourite team. I hope the Silver Arrows will be fighting again for the victory in Silverstone!

What a difference a race makes, great entertainment start to finish, or a year to Honda. Move over the old heads the young guns are coming.
Still awaiting the stewards decision, good pass I reckon so the result should stand.

Verstappen wins! But we already knew that, nice of the stewards to make it official.

And what a 1-2 for the Silver Arrows, again!!
And what an amazing fastest lap (+1 point) for Lewis Hamilton in the last lap of the race, on old hard tyres!!
And what a battles between Max and both Ferrari!

Hamilton and Mercedes-AMG leading the standings with even more advantage after Silverstone! :)

And about Vettel... I think he should retire from
F1 at the end of the season ::facepalm1::

Very entertaining, but Bottas couldn't have done any more could he? Totally screwed over by the S/C.

Yes, but today Lewis was clearly faster than Bottas, so I think Lewis could have won the race also without the Safety Car help.
Anyway it was also a nice and fair battle between both Silver Arrows

Yeah, he got past, but then Bottas took the place back - who expected that? In the end I expect Hamilton would have won, but as it stands it's a bit of a hollow victory.

Maybe to avoid this feeling, Lewis pushed hard for the fastest lap (and the extra point) in the last lap of the race on 32 laps old Hard tyres, beating Bottas on new Soft tyres!! ;)

I mean it's not his fault, and like I said, he probably 'would have' come out on top. But.... it's a shame, at least we had Max and Charles to enjoy.

Yes, the Safety Car is always a lottery, and it favoured all drivers that hadn’t stopped yet for tyres when it was deployed: Lewis, Vettel, Sainz...

It’s a shame because it was the end of the battle between Lewis and Bottas for the victory, but this is the lottery of the SC...

Considering there was no debris on track, was it really necessary?

I think that double yellow flags, or a Virtual Safety Car was enough for that incident (quite far from the track, and dry track condition), but since Jules Bianchi fatal accident the Race Direction is even more cautious... and this is also because of the drivers: they don’t reduce enough speed under yellow or double yellow flags :whipped:

Two great last races!!! I was screaming quite loud when Vettel ran into Max though... I am thrilled to see Max expanding the gap to Vettel securing his third place in the championship.

I wonder how things would turn out if you put Max in a Mercedes competing against Hamilton
