JB left a comment on the History of the 2000 Post
Have to say I never really like the 2000 series. It's a bit too 'blingy' for my tastes, and I always feel like the 2000 series was akin to a 1000 series with added tassles and features to appeal to those of a 'showy' disposition (but without the cash for a truly showy wristpiece).
They're the FocusRSi of the TAG range with extra wings, spoilers, skirts, beancan exhaust and fancy wheels, but no actual performance upgrades. (imho)

With hindsight I should have delegated reviewing those to the boss, to see if she’d consider an ‘upgrade’ to any of them. The blue mother of pearl with diamonds looks the most interesting in that page and might be very striking in the metal.

Do you mean the blue fume dial? The one at the top of the page?

Yeh the WBP2411.BA0622, top right. Looks like blue mother of pearl in the render.

Today we have an article from QP about the Heuer 01 movement
https://tagheuerenthusiast.blogspot.com/2022/02/feature-all-in-movement-tag-heuer.html
Thanks for sharing this article sir Rob. Back in 2010, I’ve been reading alot of articles about Calibre 1887. It didn’t matter to me if IP rights were bought from Seiko. Seiko has been known to give reliable and outstanding movements. (~Lotus getting Toyota engines?) Synnergy has always been productive in my view. All I know was that TAG Heuer made significant improvements to it which they did. Calibre 1887 represented a turning point where TAG Heuer needs to invest in its own capability to produce reliable and relatively affordable movement which is Swiss grade/made. (State of the Art factories being made) And push the limits to what is Avant-Garde.

Glad you enjoyed it Doc.

The thickness of the 1887 is rather compact at 7.13mm, but the H02 is slimmer at 6.99mm. Makes me wonder why the watches need to be so thick. The Carrera 1887 is 15.78mm thick; the heritage Autavia is 15.6mm thick. Seems almost the difference of the two movements.

It gets me every time as well. I don't really understand how it need to be that thick. Is not like the design department didn't know that most customer will prefer thinner watch. Must be something that we don't know about. But i am really curious about it.

Thicker means it stands out more on the wrist so other people can see it more easily and be impressed by your manliness.
