Essential improvements and done so well! Nice job Speedsterman. 馃憤
I'm seriously impressed, Mr. M! 馃憤
Thanks guys!

Made a few more customizations that were on my "to do" list:
- Added Honda logo detail to the engine
- Added the missing stripe on Senna's helmet, also added Honda to the helmet visor

Sad news. The legendary creator of Dragon Ball, Akira Toriyama, has passed. He was also a big Senna fan, shown together here circa 1990. RIP.

JUMP Magazine, which published the Dragon Ball series, was actually a sponsor of McLaren in '90-'91. Their logo can be seen on the front of the nose, right beneath Good Year.

A few more artwork pics by Akira Toriyama of Senna and his McLaren.

Nope, that was @mattp's picture not mine.

I'm done with my mods for now. Will add bigger rear tires at some point in the future, if I can find something suitable.

You are right, of course. I clearly wasn鈥檛 focussing on the poster, with the Lego set taking my attention. Just got in the groove of seeing you build and mod it.

Apologies to @mattp too.

McLaren did a fun animated series on all their legendary drivers for their 50th anniversary.

What did you use for the new decals and, if you printed them yourself, do you have a source file I can use? 馃榾 I have some printable vinyl and transfers I can use.

Most of the decals were actually from various old F1 sticker sets that I had for 1/10 scale '90s era McLaren & Ferrari RC kits. I also custom made some with my computer & printer. Needed to experiment a little to get the size right; which you could do with paper to test the fitment before using your vinyl transfers.

Post note to my Senna LEGO build. I found a suitable replacement for the rear tires. These are from a 1/10 scale F1 R/C kit, which I had laying around in storage. While not quite as fat as I'd like, it works well enough for me.

FYI for those wanting similar mods
I did notice there's also a solution on eBay. Someone custom made replacement tires using a 3D printer, as well as the Marlboro & Good Year stickers. They look pretty nice, but it costs as much as the LEGO kit itself when adding in the shipping.

In addition, while rummaging through my old hobby kits, I took some of my old Senna models out of storage.

I built these two back in circa 1990 and hadn't seen them in decades. These are 1/20th scale plastic model kits by Tamiya. Other than some yellowing of the decals, they've held up pretty well! 馃榾

Very cool, @Mspeedster. Nice blast from the past!
Thanks @Jemagloh!
Here's another oldie but goodie, Ayrton Senna's Super Monaco GP II for the SEGA Genesis game console. I played the heck out of this back in '92.

Here's Senna in a promo for the game, wearing his trusty TAG Heuer S/el.
Like most of my Senna memorabilia from yesteryear, it's tucked away somewhere in storage. (My wife forced me to store most of my old Senna stuff ages ago, as it was cluttering up the house.)
