Plastic movement holder...

I will probably have to do that, but at -20s I still cannot ask for refund, because -20s is actually the tolerance for lowest grade Sellita SW200-1. Pretty ridiculous with 2150€ MSRP watch isn't it?
I, on the other hand, I'm very sure that there is a big difference in movement grade. Standard is the worst of four available grades and it has much more generous tolerances than higher grades.
What irritates me the most is that my YouTube videos featuring my Auquaracer have now more than 160 000 views and I have sold a lot of Aquaracers for TAG, there is even one gentleman on this forum who wrote me that he bought an Aquaracer after he heard me saying good things about it in my videos, and now he is having problems with accuracy as well...
Needless to say I'm done with TAG Heuer, I'm pretty angry with them right now.

Hi Spartan, I would be interested in a link to your channel...

That would suggest -20 is outside tolerance?

That's how I read it. My cal16 aquaracer was about -20s after some vibration damage, TAG fixed it under warranty and the accuracy has been close enough that I don't notice it since.

Quartz is still the best option for an accurate watch!

It says that "A TAG Heuer watchmaker can carry out a maintenance service to adjust the timing rate of an automatic movement if it is performing outside these tolerances."
Which they did, and it helped.... for 3 weeks. Another problem is that I have to send the watch outside of this country for service.

Its a shame they are so bad, I am very tempted with the current calibre 5 aquaracer, but it needs to tell the time!
With Calibre 5 it is the other way around, you have to tell the watch what time is it 😀

Have you exposed the watch to any magnetism? Taking it through metal detectors, leaving it on top of an ipad cover, etc? Any significant vibration?

I'm fairly sure that cycling a rigid city bike around the terrible tarmac of seattle is what killed the accuracy of my cal16.

Here is my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZmvM39ck6z4j20pisIXuFA
I would advice to rather watch my newer videos, old videos are not that great.

No, I have checked that the watch is not magnetized using multiple methods and I also asked the service to check it.

- second a day is rarely caused by magnetism. If i am not mistaken magnetism might only caused + second a day.

Well thats sad if it can be broken by rough bike ride. I always thought my aquaracer is my tank in the collection.

What accuracy level you guys had on the heuer01 movement ?mine was okay. But its not as great as calibre6 or calibre18 or calibre17

Agreed. It makes a mockery of the 'dont crack under pressure marketing'. My quartz aquaracer is a tank, it's had masses of abuse over the years and keeps perfect time.

The 2017 blue quartz aquaracer looks even better than before after reading all posts here.... TAG-Heuer-Aquaracer-300M-6.jpg

The only issue with that is the aluminium bezel, it's far too soft a metal to have on your wrist.

If they made the WAY208C in quartz I would buy that, but most of the quartz models are boring versions of the automatics...

Ok, skyracer is the only option then 😉 B89A2872_copy.jpg

I'm actually thinking about buying that 10$ Ronda quartz and putting it in my Aquaracer instead of Sellita. At least the installation won't be difficult, since the crown stem is the only thing holding the movement in place (just another funny fact.)

Except those faux 3D numerals suck!

True but its no deal breaker for me. Im hoping they will release a yellow dialed Skyracer next year, then I will definately pull the trigger!

I won a ticket to dinner att Breitling's Swedish headquarters on August 31st, looking forward to playing will all new models for 2017 ::psy:: will be interesting to see their repair workshop aswell.

So I have decided to investigate the situation myself and I have taken a look inside. When the watch came from service they gave me paper with accuracy measurements and on average it did -6s / day.
I was wondering why did they regulate it to -6s / day. Well, here is why: the adjustment screw is turned to maximal + position and it couldn't be regulated more, so they have decided that -6 is good enough and further repair is not needed. As I wrote before, now it makes -20s / day
Here you can see the "beauty", base Sellita with plastic holder, as you can see the crown is the only think keeping the movement in place.
Out of the respect for calibre11 community and your love for TAG Heuer I will keep the rest of unpleasant findings for myself, but man... I feel like a damn fool for buying this watch, I couldn't be more disappointed.

Sounds like grounds to complain and return it for a replacement (If they'll allow that now you've opened it!).

But I'm not sure a sample size of one is enough to comment on the movement or series. All brands have the ocassional issue like this.
