Agree with the comments above. Looks like a good, used 1133 overall. I'd just add that we could argue the minute might not be correct also. The other things that struck me is-is this one of the darker blue dials, or just the photography? I don't know enough about Monacos to say for sure.
I wouldn't have an issue with this one as long as the price is OK. 馃憤

Looks like a really good one to me. Traces of normal use but not even obvious dents or scratches by the looks of it. These are detailed photos and it looks great. In the metal this is a stunner I think. Sharp case, no signs of polishing. dial looks great, no flaking, no signs of seal melt, all lume markers present. Some yellowing of subdials but not too bad. The screw of the right subdial hand looks a bit weird. Corrosion maybe?
Thank you for your assessment of it, it echoes my thoughts exactly. It is the case that has me most concerned however, I'm just not so sure of the edges. And it's the dial that most impresses me most along with the natural and equal lume across it. You've been a great help to me.

One of the subdial hands is different. Potentially not a major issue if everything else checks out.
You have a very sharp eye, thank you! Sometimes when you over-analyze something you might miss something fairly obvious and right in front of you! Now the different subdial hands are plain to see. Thank you!

Thanks Steve, it is the price that has piqued my interest in it the most. At slightly over US$9k it seems to be a fair deal.

The edges look a little polished down to me in those photos, but you should ask for a couple more photos from a few more angles, in natural light. For $9k the seller should be happy to provide them

Definitely also check the reference and serial numbers between the lugs.

I got some of requested additional pics and I am not "feeling it" quite yet. Your responses mean a lot to me, Thanks fellas!

I asked for that too.
Lugs and case show signs of wear. So, it's expected at this price level I suppose. Subdial minute hand is still bothering me as well. (Thank you again @imagwai)
Have a GREAT weekend guys!

Hello all,

I am brand new here. Pleased to meet you. I have picked up a vintage Heuer and I want to verify its authenticity. I would also like to get someone to restore it.

I am in London

thank you for you help/advice.

Looks genuine alright. Restoring won't be easy, though. Do you completely refinish it (won't be easy/cheap), or leave it with all the scratched and peeling coating? And do you replace the dial or leave as is? Will it still be the same watch when you're finished?

Thank you. I think would like to get the PVD re-applied and at least get the dial cleaned up. Intend to wear it often. Now I have to find somebody capable of the job. I assume Tag/Heuer do not offer to recoat the PVD as part of a service?

Anyone on here folks would suggest?

Not sure if any of it is genuine but it sure didn't leave the factory like that.

I'm away currently but all looks OK. Dial can't really be done unless relumed but it would looks awful as the whole thing would have to be refinished.
PVD can be done after a fashion-I came across a guy who does cerakote coatings which are probably the best refurbished cases you can get-no-one I've found does PVD on an individual scale.

Here he is- Tempus Watch Mods | Custom Watch Builds, Watch Repair and Customisation (tempusmods.co.uk)

You could risk sending it to TAG who could maybe replace the dial and case presumably-at a cost far more than the watch is worth though probably.

I have taken the risk and dropped it off with TAG on Monday to see what the quotation is.

Before you commit, make sure to check the threads/comments on TAG's servicing....

I will ask them what they intend to do with it beforehand. I have heard about using NOS parts and not returning the originals. I hope i have not missed some nightmares...

They don't seem to return replaced parts. At least I didn't get the old crown or seals in a little bag back like I did with the watch I sent to an independent for servicing. Their vintage department may be different?

I think I've seen this franken Camerra incabloc discussed here before, but I can not find it now.
It's ALIVE! again

With a real letter from a real watch doctor too. Leather from pig may offend some馃槈

Yeah this was the BWC we discussed. I can't find the thread either.

To be fair, back in 2001 there was FAR less known about Heuers than today. That said, even today's watch- 'makers/experts/doctors' still get it so SO wrong both with identification and market valuation.

"You can know a lot about a little or a little about a lot...."....and you need to know a lot about Heuers to make those sort of determinations!
