I have been on eBay’s semi-secret Enhanced Member Reporting Team for a number of years but now the reports are being adjudged by people who have no knowledge or experience with the brand.

The reports they’re denying are for the worst fakes imaginable.

I’d love to sic Heuer’s attorneys on eBay before some unsuspecting bidders get stitched up by buying fakes:

Thank you.

I thought the whole idea behind ebay was to facilitate for criminals to sell counterfit products

When the volunteer teams began replicas were removed in about 30 minutes.

Today they have apparently added an extra layer of “customer service agents” who have zero knowledge of the classification so they’re allowing stuff to remain that is truly heinous.

I pity the poor slobs who trust the devious sellers because they’re listing on a well-known, if clueless, platform.

lol you know you're not supposed to talk about that reporting thing right? haha. I was invited, but never did sign up. For the exact reason you mention. I used to have a direct Link to VERO and would get accounts taken down within hours, no questions asked. Then my guy left ebay. hen they wanted me to join that thing, and report each one, one by one, and just hope something happens? Like I wasn't spending enough hours doing the vero thing?

Also, I never really bothered with this bad fakes. I almost felt, that if you were ignorant enough to buy them, you kinda deserve what you get. The model numbers never match. 5 seconds of google would prevent you from getting ripped off, every single time. So I stopped wasting my time.

Hi everyone!
I just bought this Tag 4000 automatic on auction.
Red flag to me that the bezel is not rotating. Or its just stuck? What do you think about it? I hope its not fake.
Thank you for the replies.

Probably been stuck down. I had one that was glued in place, super annoying if they move because of the split logo. Either that or it's seized up. Looks a bit too good to be a fake to be honest

Recently purchased this off watchfinder thoughts?
I'd say that I trust Watchfinder more than I trust myself and others here 😀

Only thing I’m concerned about is the pins that you guys mention in the bracelet. Single notches but maybe they were replaced by them

I actually resized the first bracelet ever myself this week, hence know very little about these pins. Lets hope someone else can shed some light on this for you.

Also, I highly doubt tag heuer and it's lawyers gives a rats ass about the fakes on ebay. Let alone those garbage fakes from the 80's and 90's. Let alone compared to someone like Rolex. I don't think tag heuer even has a VERO presence on ebay. I was the only one getting anything done on ebay in regards to tag heuer fakes.

But yeah, they don't care, Considering there are 100's sellers I can make list of right now, if you gave me 10 minutes, all selling high end fakes. At least we are lucky that China doesn't think it's worth it to make the best grade clones of tag heuers. You think this is bad? Try Omega.... Tag heuer clones are garbage by comparison.

yeah, no. That's fake. And no one is replacing the pins unless the watch is super old and beat up, which that clearly isn't. Single notch, means fake bracelet. Which still leaves a chance of someone replacing a bracelet with what they thought was authentic. Plenty of those for sale too.
But unfortunately, that bezel lume is the other easiest tell. Real ones have a flat glass like ( maybe actually glass?) surface, with a very tiny gap around. The fakes, have no surface, besides the lume, which is always slightly domed and with almost never any gap, because unlike tag, they just put lume into the bezel, while tag has an actual PART that they put into the lume hole. Rather than just literally filling the hole with lume. lol. Man, if china ever decides to not do this, we are screwed. Like I was saying, we are really lucky china doesn't make actual clones of our beloved brand.

Correct, it's 100% real. and in fairly good condition. Which makes the bezel being seized really weird.

Ok so I guess I should return it to watchfinder or I should send it to tag under the manufacturer warranty

I miss the good old fun days of the CR7 Carrera with the quartz Cal 1887 movement...

I particularly like the windmill at the top and the running seconds dial that's half covered up by whatever that thing in the middle is. Oddly though, I kinda like the design, it just needs some thicker hands...
How DARE you. That is NOT a windmill. That is clearly a whirligig!!!

Would be super interested to hear what they have to say about that... I recently heard WF rejected a genuine watch because they thought it was fake.

well, I mean. What end result are you looking for exactly? Sending it to tag for warranty, will just have them send it back to you saying they can't work on fakes. But that is the best way to get authenticity determined for anyone that doesn't trust any third party. How did you pay for the watch? and also, how much did you pay?

lol really? I need more info on that please. Must have been some super lazy tech. Or maybe the watch wasn't actually geunine? I still remember that one time one of our guys sent a fake one to tag, and they said it was real lol. But it was a 30-40 year old model... and whoever worked on it was probably not even born yet.
