·Probably would've been stopwatches at that point. Was only in 1957 that Omega decided to make a specialized drivers' watch with a large external tachymeter bezel (and it took Heuer and Rolex another 5 years to offer the same); before that the realm of professional-focused wristwatches were centered mainly around divers.

TAG Heuer highlighted Dempsey promoting the movie in their IG stories. So fingers crossed that we might get Heuer stopwatches and perhaps a Heuer wristwatch on Dempsey's character in Ferrari.

·A pre-Carrera chrono, such as the Heuer 3336 or 2444 would be period correct for 1957, the year the movie takes place.
Period correct yes, but not quite correct for usage. Not many photos from that time show drivers wearing wristwatches.

·Patrick Dempsey has started to promote the new Ferrari movie, which stars Adam Driver in the title role. Dempsey co-stars as Ferrari driver Piero Taruffi.
Here appropriately wearing the Carrera ref. 1158CHN aka Ferrari pilot's watch.
Also wearing the red Carrera RS2.7 here.
Will we see him wearing a Heuer in the movie?
In this shot, he seems to have a stopwatch strapped to his wrist.
I noticed this Heuer stopwatch in this IG post about Dempsey visiting the TAG Heuer factory.
