will this generate enthusiasm for both vintage enthusiasts AND TH fans?
The decription I've seen just says "domed sapphire crystal". If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say I don't think it will be a glassbox. The render that's doing the rounds bears this out I think, although obviously it's a front-on view so, again, hard to tell for sure.
Theory: the 60th panda has increased the desirability and therefore prices of all glassbox Carreras.
I'm probably in the minority, but the glassbox distortion doesn't bother me much. On the plus side, I find it adds depth & personality.
That's because your glasbox watch(es) don't have details on the periphery. Have you tried the Fragment, or the Telemeter?
The Fragment, no. Never seen one in person. I wanted one when it was released, but just couldn't justify its price.
The Telemeter, yes. I was super excited about it, but was disappointed when I tried it on. It wasn't specifically the crystal, but just a number of things. The color and inverted pie pan dial were the two negatives (for me) that I recalled most. But it also felt small, probably due to the combination of the glassbox & inverted pie pan. Tried it on a couple of times, my feelings haven't changed.
Earlier in this thread, we were discussing the availability of the strap and buckle that came with the 60th Carrera. Has anyone been able to purchase from TAG Heuer at this time?
I think it was @Anthony.R and @Mspeedster? I’ve reached out to my boutique but they don’t seem to be available through them (yet).
Thanks, guys. I'll follow up with mine regarding the strap and buckle.
