Pfff what a loser, he must have scored a ton of points along the way. The true champions drive for donkey ass teams and score zero points. To one day maybe eventually hopefully get a seat with the big boys.

Wouldn't it be ironic if George gets a seat with Merc next year and it turns out their new regulation car sucks so he finds himself fighting Ferraris and Tauris for p8-12 😁

Before I watched this my thought was they can't decide between them until they know if Hamilton is staying or not... which is basically what the video said.
Funny, people on F1 forums are always going on about statistics, but George's statistics are never going to look great are they, 45 starts and 0 points.
He has 3 WC points I think, no? 2 for 9th place and 1 for fastest lap when he stood in for Hamilton at Mercedes.

Russell should be with Mercedes next year. Or else their Junior Driver Program was just a waste of all that money and effort.

Yes, maybe you are right.... and he would have won that race, but you know what F1 fans are like with their statistics and how they 'prove' this guy was better than that guy. What I mean is, his stats are so much worse than someone like Hamilton who didn't spend the first three years of his career driving cars at the back of the grid. Alonso also started in a Minardi. Schumacher won a race in his first year (or second).

It just shows you simply can't compare drivers in teams at opposite ends of the grid. The only meaningful way to assess a driver is to see if he regularly outperforms a teammate, or regularly places his car higher than where it ought to be. Points are irrelevant. And real world class drivers also need a world class car.

How did you draw that conclusion? Hamilton is a great driver, we know that, and still hungry not to be beaten. It will certainly be an interesting battle. I'd expect George to challenge him harder than Bottas has done, but Hamilton has experience on his side too.

Well I just figured since George is whoopin the ass of his team mates every weekend since he started, while Hamilton is beaten once in a while by his.

Found the video. Great stuff, lets hope he qualifies badly too so he'll start around p10. We all know Bottas cant climb back to the front when he gets stuck down there so this would mean one less Merc to worry about 👍

Hamilton says 'No need to replace Bottas'.... well, he would say that wouldn't he? He's not likely to say 'yeah, let's get in wonderkid Russell and dump this underperforming chump' is he? Now we shall have a long wait as Hamilton tries to outwait the team and tries to get another year with Bertie Bottas.

Ofcourse, Hamilton wants Bottas as his teammate because he is consistent and reliable with points for the Constructor’s Championship AND his skills are not enough to overtake and give Hamilton a headache 😵‍💫

By bringing in Russell, this might mean a compromise of their 7-consecutive double World Championship 😲
