I just received an update to Watchmaker and the performance on the 2020 is much improved. In fact, I don't see any lag with the notifications/menu. Are others experiencing the same?

Is there anyway we could email anyone higher at TAG Heuer than customer service to get a real answer? In my experience, they only know what they know from reading a script on a computer facing them when they're on the phone with a customer.
Replacing the battery is not a technical impossibility, it's a business choice. They're betting that we'll buy again. Do you hear yourselves talking about your beloved Gen 1 and 2 that you own in addition to a Gen 3?The sounds you hear are TAG Heuer executives rubbing their hands, licking their lips and drooling.

The gen 3 has screws holding the back plate on. Something must open on it ?

Yes, for this reason we thought (and even someone wrote) that it was to change the battery, but it’s not... This is the testimony of another Gen3 owner after speaking with TH:

All quite mad really. If it was never their intention to open it they could have sealed it like the gen 2 and made it look one piece. I guess until an owner of a gen 3 unscrews them 4 screws to see what happens we will never know. Tag for sure are not going to tell us.

It's time to draw straws. Whomever gets the short one has to open their watch.

Before you all start breaking your new watches. I have found a video on YouTube -

please be sure to like his video.

it is certainly not designed to easily remove the battery, it is more of a battery component than just a battery.
However if you can get your hands on that component which only tag or let’s say a Chinese factory will have
then it’s possible.

Interesting video! 👍

Seeing how he disassembled the watch, I'm not at all sure that he could put it back together to make it work again 🤦... as that no longer appears in the video, being the most difficult part of the job

Anyway, if TAG Heuer (or Jade Energy Technology, from Zhuhai) are not going to sell you this battery component as a spare part, or they don’t want to replace it for whatever reason, the result is the same, and the four screws on the caseback would be useless for the watch owner 🤔

Then if the watch can be opened and the battery removed, is TAG Heuer's choice not to replace it. I'm guessing when the day comes that the battery dies, a third party company may offer battery replacements. Being out of warranty, there wouldn't much to lose at the time.

I highly doubt it, they have not done so for the gen 1 and 2.

I think I spoke too soon and was relying on faces that were not very complex. Lag was back today. Didn't seem quite as bad as usual, but it wasn't good.

No, it’s probably a collaboration TAG Heuer & Porsche

The charging time of my battery keeps getting longer and longer but is not giving me any longer service time.

When I got it last month it will charge from 0 to 100% in just under 90 minutes. Now it’s taking two hours to get to 100% and it seems to linger at 99% for the last 15 minutes.

I decided against sending it to be checked but I’m now wondering if it was the right call.

I have to get rid of something. Wear OS by Google is still updated regularly and is also still available for my 41. I recently contacted TAG Heuer customer service here in Germany and learned that there are no longer any system updates for the watches. Have you also had this experience in your countries? I have the system version H with security patch from September 1st, 2019. The clocks are not really old yet. As far as I know, the Modular 45 was released in 2017 and the Modular 41 in 2018. I find it disappointing that such high-priced watches have such a poor software supply. Cheaper smartwatches from well-known manufacturers receive software updates years after they appear. And I think, precisely because of the use of google pay, it would make more sense to at least update security patches.
