Hello guys 馃榾 How is your glass doing on G3s after few months of usage? Yesterday, I noticed some minor scratches on the glass, which made me a little surprised. Its not that kind of notable key-to-glass scratches you feel with nails after going through the screen and therefore not killing me 馃榾 But at some point of angle, turning the watch, I notice it, so its a matter of rotating and turning the watch while in direct sunlight. I was expecting my watch to get damaged by time on the titanium case, but on the screen, I really did not expect that. Just want to clarify, whether its normal after some time of usage and I should worry about more important stuff 馃榿. Thank you, and all the best to ya all!

隆Gracias, y todo lo mejor para todos! [/ QUOTE]

Tag 3rd gen 2020, Wondering if anyone is seeing unusual behavior that would make the battery run down like this? Took my watch off the charger at 7am, turned off wear OS on iPhone, business as usual, turned on wear OS on iPhone around 2pm to see what battery life was going to look like today. Then everything went south from there. Watch was hot to the touch and the battery ran down like this. Any thoughts? Thanks everyone.

So, Google today announced a big update for Wear OS in collaboration with Samsung. I wouldn't read too much into the PR talk about a merger of Wear OS and Samsung's Tizen. It sounds more to me that Samsung is giving up Tizen in favour of Wear OS and Google is permitting custom overlays by manufacturers (e.g. Samsung will be able to re-skin Wear OS with their own One UI in order to keep the familiar Tizen look). I think the core remains Wear OS.
Still, it seems like a big update, so here is the million dollar question... Will the next update be made available to the TAG Heuer Connected, or is this next Wear OS version so different that the ageing SoC of the Connected cannot cope with and it signals the end of software support for the Connected?

It is more likely that Connected receives Wear OS updates, and I can see the improvement which is going to come in our watch.

The only concern is whether we see any improvement in the AOD brightness issue?

I hope you are right. Unfortunately TAG Heuer has no control over this, and it is wholly up to Google to decide whether they will make the new version of Wear available for watches with the older 3100 SoC. It is not unusual for Google (and general the tech world) to abandon support abruptly for older hardware. If it were a usual, incremental update, I wouldn't worry, but in this case the total revamp of Wear OS together with the simultaneous release of a newer SoC, the Snapdragon 4100, can be disruptive for older hardware.

Yes, you are right. It's not in the hand of Tag Heuer. Let's wait and watch.
Nothing we can do more.
I think my decision to rush for Gen3 was a bad one. I should have stick with my Gen2 instead 馃う

The Gen 2 is a much better package all round. Nothing on the market comes close to its diversity. The gen 3 is just another smart watch out of a sea of smart watches. I can see the gen 2 becoming a collectors item for sure . Even now they are getting harder to acquire on eBay and chrono24. The mechanical heads make it even more appealing.

Well... I'm quite the techy guy, so I already knew that by the time the new Connected had come out, its 3100 SoC was just before replacement (which indeed happened app. 3 months later with the presentation of the 4100). And I was also expecting that Google would also finally do something radical with Wear OS that could also jeopardise future support for 3100 equipped smartwatches (which happened now). Generally I thought already back in March 2020 that the timing of the presentation of the Connected 2020 was very poorly chosen. Therefore I had decided to keep away from the new Connected, until I just found one used, but in excellent condition, for much less. Anyway, whatever support the new Connected won't get, the old Connected Modular 45 won't get either, plus there is no telling whether there will be soon a newer Connected with a better SoC and next Wear version. So in the end there is no real wrong decision, whether you hold onto the old Connected Modular 45 or get the new.

With all the talk about Google revamping WearOs I hope the 2020 Connected will get the update

Hello, I鈥檓 hoping someone can help me with something that has been bothering me from the first day I bought this watch weeks ago. I tried every part of the settings on the watch, tag app, Wear OS App etc just about every day with no solution and now hoping to get help from this forum. The watch is paired to an iPhone XS.

I only use the TIMEKEEPING FACE, and the DATE display is shown as (Month/Day/Year) I have gone through all the settings including resetting the watch to default and changing from UK to USA etc for the Language. I Wish Tag included AUSTRALIAN as a language so the date can be shown as (Day/Month/Year)
I am so happy with this Gen3 even though it does way less than the Apple Watch and Garmin BUT the one thing that annoys me is the date display. Anyone have a solution ? it鈥檚 probably something very simple that I missed ?
Sorry if I missed a solution to this but the month/day/year instead of day/month/year bothered me as well on the TIMEKEEPING watchface. The alternative of using a Watchmaker one was not so apealing to me as I wanted the original. The only simple solution to this was...to change the display language IN MY PHONE. As soon as I changed from English (United States) to English (United Kingdom) the date format switched on the TIMEKEEPING watchface too. Hope this helps

It looks like they have a black leather strap ready to go. I think this picture has been on the app for quite some time, so it's anybody's guess why this isn't for sale yet.

This is why the TH Modular concept of Gen2 is so brilliant, because when the connected module becomes obsolete for any reason (battery, hardware, screen, software...), you still can enjoy your lugs, straps, buckles, and bracelets, with the mechanical modules, so all this investment is not lost as with a standard smartwach like Gen3, with no #connectedtoeternity program as Gen1 and Gen2

I agree, it is not the best strategy, mainly for the customers.
Perhaps they think that making disposable watches in China will generate more profit for each watch sold (because of a much lower manufacturing cost), but with higher failure rates (a foreseeable lower quality control is evident compared to when they manufactured Gen2 in their Swiss headquarters) that does not give a good image, and if Gen3 battery cannot be changed, they will have to change many complete watches while they are under warranty, and probably offer a discounted exchange for Gen4 when they fail out of warranty... 馃
I think exactly the same and thats the main reason I kept my Gen2 41 but finding the mechanical head difficult to purchase. Can't find them.

Many more mechanical heads were made for the gen 2 45 than for the gen 2 41. Both now are very hard to find. For those 45 heads for sale on chrono24 higher prices are being asked and paid. All that you can do now is keep searching eBay and chrono24 daily and if you see a gen 41 mechanical for sale then buy it at the asking price or it will be gone before an offer is reviewed. I wore my mechanical head yesterday and could not stop looking at it.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen, my 5 year old as toddled off with the charging puck for the Connected 2020, are there any other options than the official charger?

My little one does the same thing. Since it's magnetic, I usually find it stuck to something, like the fridge or other ferrous furniture. As to replacing it, unfortunately I don't think that there's an alternative...
