Looks to be more of an assembly defect between the OLED and cover glass.

yup. Burn in would be more visible and would see some form of image and do not. It’s really just a darker (clearer??) spot versus the outside. It’s is most visible with sunlight

Does it still lag the watch down?
Yes. 🙁
But the watch is still in version 6.1.3, maybe that’s the reason.

thanks. Pisses me off but obviously a defect of sorts. Contacted where I bought it and will report back

How did it turn out?

Mine has exact the same.

I actually thought it's was due to pulse module

Waiting for Birks Canada to receive instructions from Tag. I told my retailer I want an exchange and NOT service as I literally bought it a month ago. She understood but will get back to me Monday.

Weird. This is the version in the Play store for Watchmaker. Not updated since June. Maybe country dependent?

No, you have to opt-in as beta tester and you'll get new updates before they are released in Play Store.

Ah gotcha. And the watch only version is still not updated even with beta?

Me too. I haven’t tried this with the wear OS version or beta version yet but will report any findings

Yes, it’s still 6.1.3. I don’t know why.

Morning all

before taking the plunge and purchasing I am trying to find out a bit more info about any issues I may have as a iPhone user. I’m not planning to change my phone - are there any major restrictions I should be aware of? I currently have a gem 2 Apple Watch I’ve loved but is on its last legs.

Also - is it possible to have calories burned as a watch face compilation?

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,
Similar to you I went from Apple Watch to Gen3 Connected and also using an iPhone, currently an XS Max. For me it was easy to set up and I just wanted some of my Notifications like SMS, eBay, PayPal and some others to work and it works well with an iPhone.

Phone calls can be answered but you can't talk dick tracy style and that's fine with me because I don't use that feature but comes in handy when walking/running and listening to my AirPods as I can answer a call on my Watch and talk via AirPods without taking my phone out of my pocket.

You can download some apps and they do work fine but google MAPS is useless and can't really do much from what I can see, I think it only works if you use an Android phone......maybe someone else can help if I'm wrong. I tried to get MAPS to work but it only shows where you are and won't navigate to where you want to go.

I use the TAG Heuer Sports App for Exercise and it Works BUT with some BUGS that need to be fixed, I emailed Tag and got no response, hopefully they can fix with the Next Update.

As you know the Apple Watch is excellent in many ways but like me if you are after a better looking watch that looks like a real watch the Gen3 will be perfect but it won't do everything the Apple Watch does. The gen3 has an excellent screen and its pretty fast, you will find its pretty easy to use just like the Apple Watch.

Hope the little above helps 😀

Thanks for taking the time to respond, it is much appreciated. Like yourself, my main use of the watch is SMS, WhatsApp, Call and Email notifications - then the primary function is health data such as calories, steps and recording walks, hiit sessions and so forth. When you say there are some bug with the fitness side of things could you elaborate? Do you have all the info pull through from the watch to apple health on the iPhone?

The phone call functionality sounds perfect for me using AirPods too.
