First, thank you so so much for doing this. So yeah, i will stick with AOD off and gestures on as i want to utilize the battery to the fullest with the amount of notifications i get daily.
thank you so much !!!!!

Just thought I would show difference between Galaxy Watch AOD and Gen 3 AOD.

That's not comparable because the background of the Gen 3 face is not full black.

Thanks, but both watches are in bright mode, right? So AOD is not working in this picture

Could you please take the same picture with both watches in dimmed mode (AOD on, Automatic bright on)?

They are both in dimmed mode.
Pic taken indoors obviously.

No, your first picture was in bright mode for both watches.

Bright mode:

Dimmed mode:

You can clearly see the difference with your second picture: full watchface design in first picture, and more minimalist design in second picture (mostly in Gen3). Light condition is not the same in both pictures, but it seems Gen3 is brighter in dimmed mode than your Galaxy. Are both in Automatic bright setting?

First pics from earlier in day were taken in normal mode. You are correct.
Gen 3 goes from Bright mode to dimmed mode for 1 second and then a further dimmed mode. The most recent pics are fully in AOD dimmed mode.
Gen 3 definitely is brighter than Galaxy in dimmed AOD.

Ok, that extra brightness from Gen3 over the Galaxy is normal then, because Gen3 is manually adjusted to maximum bright, while Galaxy is on Automatic setting. That鈥檚 not a fair comparison from both dimmed modes then! 馃槈 Both should be on Automatic bright setting

Further demonstrates the auto brightness on gen 3 is broken. Very sad! Tag fix this! 2k is a lot of money

FYI if it helps anyone that have Gen3, in regards to the battery.
So... With all my previous TAGs i used to do a Battery Calibration:
As soon as i got the watch, i did NOT charge and let the battery die. Forcefully rebooting it to kill the battery faster.
Battery lasted aprox 5 hours, received it with 86%.
then - Charge to 100% and disconnect as soon as it reach 100% (Aprox 2 hours).
Let the battery die, i forcefully killed it by reboots, casting on my watch my security cameras etc . From 100% to 0% in about 16 hours.
Then again, charge to 100 and use.

Now here are my results after battery "Calibration":

Take off charger at 6am on 3.25.2020
Going to bed at 11pm 3.25.2020, battery at 51% without forcefully rebooting or killing the battery, just regular normal use.
Wake up at 6am watch with 47%.
now it is 3.26.2020, the time is 3PM CST and i did 1 hour of cross-fit training with the Tag App (HR) for 45 minutes. Watch is currently with 15%.

INCREDIBLE total of 33 hours.
AOD OFF
Brightness level at 4 constant
countless of notifications
1 hour of Hear Rate
8 hours of rest with screen off during sleep.

So far REALLY good battery life.

if you hadnt already, you should calibrate your battery.

It鈥檚 true, battery lasts around 30% longer than my previous Gen 2.
I think the Snapdragon 3100 and the software optimization are the main reasons.
