Yeah, got mine as well! It's actually very good imitation. I suppose TAG Heuer is doing this in part to comply with the new California legislation.

California can't have leather? I wouldn't be surprised lol

I think they are talking about the black Ti which is available only in the US and will be released in ROW soon.

I also think -like @Ninja1400 - that the answer is about the black titanium version

I made a decision to return my Gen 3 stainless last week for the black titanium model. US customer service said inventory levels were low but they have been slowly receiving them in and as of now they are available to purchase online. I'm very happy I switched to the black titanium- it suits my tastes much better although the stainless seems much more elegant in appearance.

Regarding the complaints about the very dim a.o.s., I am experiencing that as well when I have my brightness set to automatic. I have found that setting the display brightness to 1 while using a.o.s. will suffice until they (hopefully) fix this in an update. Battery life has been great so far.
Cheers!

I watched a YouTube review of the new Connected, and there is a comparison between the new Connected and the previous Connected Modular 45 and it is true that the ambient mode of the new model seems dimmer than the previous, therefore it's a widespread problem or it is even by design to increase battery life.

Could you please post the link of this video?

The video is in Russian. Mind you, I don't speak Russian, so I cannot know for sure if the reviewer says something relevant. Also I don't know if he uses the same settings for both watches. However, if the reviewer hasn't bothered with settings, both watches should be in auto brightness and thus comparable. Look at the very beginning of the video.

Thanks for the link! 👍
I don’t understand Russian either, but the visual comparison is very interesting. As you say, both watches should be in Auto bright setting. If so, then for sure there’s something wrong in the new chinese Ambient Light Sensor of Gen3, or it needs some urgent software upgrade, because Gen3 screen is too dark in dimmed mode! 😵‍💫

I must say I'm leaning this time more towards the silver bezel. It looks good in this video. Also when I saw the model live at the shop window, the silver model looked more expensive. I'm waiting for quarantine to finish to check the two models live.

Yes, we already talked about this: If I were you, and moreover having -and keeping- your Connected Modular 45 with black ceramic bezel (my favourite bezel for Gen2), I would choose Gen3 with silver ceramic bezel 👍 or the full black titanium version

I haven't seen the black titanium version live. It's definitely a beautiful watch, but maybe not for me, because, being matt means that it has no accents or contrasting areas.

I have both versions of the Gen2 M45: titanium case, and full black titanium case (black ceramic), and I love both! They are very different, but both look great in the metal.

Anyway, Gen3 steel with silver ceramic bezel, or Gen3 full black titanium, will look very different and complementary to your current titanium Gen2 M45, so both are good options! 👍

Actually my favourite Connected 3 combination is probably the full silver model with the khaki rubber strap, as shown on the official website.

Yeah I think the black looks way too generic and could be mistaken for a fossil, since the normal version doesn't look too unique as it is. This is just from pictures as I haven't seen the black in person yet.
