According to your pictures, it鈥檚 readable.
Mine is brighter, but I have the setting in 4 or 5, not automatic (it鈥檚 too dim).
Well that lines up with my findings as well. I guess my watch is normal then. Automatic puts the screen way too dim. Thanks for confirmation!

So it seems that with Automatic bright and dimmed mode AOD, Gen2 M45 is -at the moment- working better than Gen3 馃槤 馃槈

Because the solution found by @TAG GUY for his Gen3 was also a manual setting for bright... 馃憥

Anyway, it鈥檚 also interesting to compare AOD dimmed mode with the official faces vs WatchMaker app faces, because there鈥檚 a big difference here. The new official Heuer 02 face has been also installed in Gen2 during last update, so this is the face used for the comparison:

Left is WatchMaker face, right is official face. Top is bright mode, and below is dimmed mode (Automatic bright)

I wish someday TH will offer the option of a fully detailed dimmed mode for the official faces! 馃檮

Yup, gen 2 works way better. But do you remember when it didn't? About a year or 2 ago it was really bad, then TH updated it. Made a huge difference and they also added color to AOD which was nice. Maybe u didn't notice as u use watchmaker. I agree the watchmaker AOD looks better and is more detailed, but sometimes I like the stock AOD for quick glances and battery savings.

Yes, a rubber strap pretending to be a leather strap ... you have to see it live! 馃槈

I'm thinking this is leather over rubber. We'll see if I'm right.

This shows that AOD dimmed mode with WatchMaker doesn鈥檛 work well, because it鈥檚 almost the same as the bright mode.

It鈥檚 not a good solution, because then bright is not adapting well to ambient light, and manually setting it at 4 or 5 will be too bright on a dark atmosphere.
I wish you that TH solves this issue soon with software updates, as suggested by @TAG GUY 馃憤

I think the price for a leather over rubber strap (and including buckle) would be quite more expensive 馃憥

This shows that AOD dimmed mode with WatchMaker doesn鈥檛 work well, because it鈥檚 almost the same as the bright mode.
馃榾 This is what I like: seeing in dimmed mode a very similar face than in bright mode, mostly because the Gen2 battery can handle it without problem after system H update (this was a great improvement!).

BTW, depending on the light (for instance sunlight) the difference between bright mode and dimmed mode is more noticeable than in these pictures, but being indoor, both modes look very similar with the proper WatchMaker face.

For instance, this is bright mode:

I don鈥檛 like to see a too dark face on the screen, or just a minimalist version of the face.

Please tell me your joking, just bought it. 鈽癸笍 Maybe not leather but some sort of fake leather at least. Rubber on rubber would be a total miss.
