Just because I know how much you all hate Monaco’s on nato straps.... not great photos but I’m on my way out!

Death is too good for you.

I have a 70s ….. but starting to wear the 90s as a more everyday watch now.
Another question for the forum …. of those who got the various incarnations, how many wear them and how many have bought them to put away ?
I understand both, but I'm going to wear mine …..

I wore my 90s daily for more than a month when I got it. Then started to rotate back to some of my other watches. But the 90s is still a prominent regular in my line up and I often wear it for weeks at a time. Just love the watch, it's definitely a keeper! 🥰

Wearing mine all the time. Rotating my other watches also of course but they are getting plenty of wrist time, as does my 50 win Gulf.
Sometimes I even show it off on a nato.
Too much?

When I had my black dial Calibre 12 Monaco I wore it on a Bond NATO. This was before all the nice new seatbelt-style NATOs but I still rather liked it

I’m off to a TH Monaco event next week so should be able to get photos of all the 50ths, C12, 02 and hopefully some heritage ones.

Sounds nice! Is it arranged by Tag or something unofficial via a forum or similar?

It’s a WoS one with THs support, who I understand are bringing their museum pieces.

This article states that TH will discontinue the left side crown Monaco. I can't believe that TH would not keep a 1133b re-edition left crown style Monaco in its line up. They should just keep the CAW211P if they can't make the H02 work with a left side crown.

"Enjoy the iconic Monaco silhouette of the left-side crown and two-pushers on the right-side while it lasts. TAG Heuer are not only putting the full stop on the Monaco 50th Anniversary, but also the Calibre 11 that powers it. Since the beginning, the Monaco has been powered by one of the first automatic chronograph movements in production. The Calibre 11 name has remained but the movement architecture has changed over the years. From 2020, the in-house Calibre Heuer 02 will take its place and keep the winding crown on the right-hand side alongside the pushers. From a usability perspective, I understand this choice, but personally wish the southpaw crown remained for nostalgia’s sake."

I noticed that too. All I can say, is don't believe everything you read. 😉

Yeah, I don't believe it. Having said that, it does make me wonder even if the H02 can be re-jiggered to work with a left side crown, how will TH market the movement?

Cal 11 is practically synonymous with the Monaco 1133b. Maybe they'll call it the the Calibre Heuer 02-11. LOL. 😜

Yes, that would be confusing, so unless they change their minds, expect a different term.

Crown on the left, crown on the right. Doesn't really make much difference while they persist with the square chrono pushers. Would be amazing to see a proper vintage style release of the Monaco one day, similar to what Omega did with the 1957 trilogy.

That is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
