Curious, there's also a used full set reserved at $44k, and a 69-79 50th listed with a chain link bracelet. Some questionable sale posts about these lately.
If a US buyer eventually gets these at 35k, that’s 7k a piece w/o the hassle of having to spend years to chase them individually. That doesn’t really shock me at all anymore… Then again, I admit that it might be “boiled frog” syndrom given the price inflation for some other rare modern Monacos (or vintage Heuers)
EDIT: No boiled frog here. I just looked it up, and these were 6.4K at release. Guess it’s just a fun buy for whoever has the money lying around
The full box got discounted to £ 27,500 sometime back, bring a value to an amazing £ 5,500 per watch. The box is now reserved - meaning a binding offer has been made. Good deal IMO.
Plus, just saw that some fine fellow in UK has put all the 5 watches for sale individually on C24, totalling to a mammoth £ 37,000. https://www.chrono24.co.uk/tagheuer/monaco-1970s-model-50th-anniversary-collection--id24862849.htm https://www.chrono24.co.uk/tagheuer/monaco-1980s-model-50th-anniversary-collection--id24843809.htm https://www.chrono24.co.uk/tagheuer/monaco-1990s-model-50th-anniversary-collection--id24843756.htm https://www.chrono24.co.uk/tagheuer/monaco-2000s-model-50th-anniversary-collection--id24843888.htm https://www.chrono24.co.uk/tagheuer/monaco-2010s-model-50th-anniversary-model--id24843992.htm Would have considered the red (CAW 211W) but that price is just
