That picture from Authentic Watches is the only one I can find too. Some of the straps look decidely second hand! It would be good to see some better quality photos/marketing material.

The blue one that I have is graet quality- and suspect that the Tan and Black with orange stitching also look good quality. The one that looks "off" to me is the one with the Orange stripe

Ironically, that strap is the one I feel could look good with the right watch - CAW211K (ACM Edition) for instance.

I still fail to understand why pay extra $$$ for a factory strap when you can order a custom one, tailor-made to your wrist, from top-notvh artisans, for much less.

I'm a sucker for factory straps. I don't think I've ever found a non-factory one that I like more, but I guess that could be because I like to keep the watch "stock"...but agree that the prices get crazy

Because not many people want to save a few quid on a cheap copy of an authentic original strap for a watch costing nearly £5,000 plus.

Some of us just like to keep things stock, where possible.
Previously I was very inflexible on this but then bought a few non branded straps where I couldn't source a TH strap to do the job.
They are nice, and I have even praised some of the better ones on this forum previously but it's just not the same in my opinion.
For me, the complete authentic package is what I strive for, even if I have to fork out a few more dollars.

I understand both angles. It feels"proper" to be stock. But the price of TAG's leather and fabric straps is very high. And they don't seem to last long either. The story above about a band disintegrating without being worn is a shocker! Strap prices seem like an easy way to make extra aftermarket cash at a high margin. (Fair enough.)

I love TAG steel bracelets though and always buy my watches with them. I might then temporarily swap them out for a leather or rubber strap. I recently bought a NOS vintage TAG leather strap. It's really smart, but surprisingly insubstantial. I've seen straps for £20 that are just as good quality. I don't think it will be very durable.

Because custom made straps can still cost upwards of $200 and you don't know what you are getting unti lyou have paid for it and received it. Factory straps are a known quantity.

Unless you've figured out who the OEM supplier is... then savings can be upwards of $100 just for an unbranded strap and clasp. I think TAG uses an in-house LVMH supplier though so wouldn't quite work.

Also, you can always look around other forums for recommendations on strap makers, so if you're paying $200 (which is VERY high end; most high quality custom straps are in the $75-125 range) you'll know they come highly recommended.

Folks must have completely different straps on their Tags than i do. I’d not bother paying £300+ on replacement TH strap. The quality on the ones that came with the watch(es) are appalling. Seem to be the exact same one. Only reason to buy OEM in my eyes is to maintain authenticity and have a deployant clasp. The actual straps themselves are utter s**t.

I don't know which straps you have experience of but the Carrera 300SLR and Carrera MP4-12C straps are both very good.

Carrera Cal 17 Chrono
Monaco
Carrera Tele 18

All have same strap. Identical black or blue leather strap. It feels v cheap in comparison to some others I have. I also have a Grand Carrera on a rubber strap.
