^Seems the Formula 1 is the gateway drug that hooked many of us on TAG Heuer. I counted 6 out of 20 so far.
When so many people say a TAG Heuer was their first nice watch, it's almost always a Formula 1. Sometimes an Aquaracer but the F1 is very youthful (or at least, used to be) and also used to be within the right price range for a generous but still reasonable gift.

This was my first foray into the world of Heuer.
The original logo just memorized me with its simplicity.
On a family trip to the Gold Coast back in the year 2000, I left the family in the Hotel and when for a quiet walk. Came back an hour later with a $3000 watch on my wrist and a massive grin. Coming from an average family with no history of excess , brands or bling, they all thought I had lost my marbles.
I remember walking into the Watches of Switzerland and seeing the Monaco and Monza on display. Wow, I tried the both on and decided the Monaco was just a little too large for my wrist and walked out with the Monza. Quite Ironic now, as I now own six Monaco‘s.
Anyway, funnily enough the Monza is now too small for my wrist but I will never part with it, as it was a major part of my Heuer journey. 😀

Yes, it is worthy of its own photo I thought. Not sure TH makes enough products these days with the attention to detail and creative simplicity.
A little Less bling and a bit more attention to simple beauty. Of course it’s always in the eye of the beholder.
