Hi guys and sorry for my English that it is not my mother language.

I was a commercial diver and I always want it to have a divers Tag Heuer but never was the moment for the financial situation, is not than it is better now but I am getting older and If I dont do it now I will never do it.

So I want to buy a second hand one and the 2 models that call me are 1st the "TAG Heuer Aquaracer 300M WAF111Z" and 2nd "TAG Heuer Aquaracer WAB1110 " and something that it is very important for me is that the logo is the color one and the diver on the back.

The thing is that I can see in Chrono24 a few ones and they are on my budget but I dont know if they will be fake or not and all the watches are in another country so bigger risk for me and money. Should I trust Chrono24? some watches are from Japan and looking really clean and neat but I dont know.

Any help or advice will be appreciate, I am in New Zealand by the way....

Jose.

Generally the colour logo means it is a Quartz watch not an automatic (quartz keeps better time and is more robust, automatic apparently has more ‘soul’).

Almost all Aquaracers have the diver on the back, apart from the WBP models and some special editions.

Be patient and take your time. Chrono24 is like any other marketplace, you will find reputable honest sellers as well as criminal scum selling counterfit garbage. You should find a seller that you trust, not put your faith in chrono24 itself as a platform.

Yes, this is like asking do you trust eBay. Chrono 24 is literally just a platform.

I know quite well how Ebay,s work and what is possible to find, the good and the bad part of it. But I thought that Chrono24 like is an specialised watches platform that will be more reliable than Ebay, Chrono24 is completely new for me I never deal with watches online before. I know that I need to take care with this project, but I do want a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Im motivated and I dont mine if is a bit old I want it to be my everyday watch.

I have always been more comfortable with C24 as compared to eBay; however, above all else, buy the seller.

In general it's probably true that C24 is more reliable, but at the end of the day it's still just an e-commerce platform, they don't check the watches themselves so there's always potential for fraud. I think the way you list on there is slightly different to eBay so it attracts more 'serious' watch dealers. I bought a watch through C24 once, but it actually came from a pawn shop in Bristol... or Brighton, I forget - too far too drive anyway. I didn't have much faith in them being able to tell if it was real or fake but the photos convinced me it was real and plus it was a slightly odd limited edition watch that I doubt has been faked.

Perhaps if you find something you are interested in the best thing would be to post it in the fake thread first and get a second opinion? The good thing is that you came here before you started buying stuff, people usually rock up here once their watch arrives and then start to panic. Plus it looks like you are looking at older watches so straight away you are making things easier on yourself, because the usual question is 'is my WAY Aquaracer or my WAZ F1 fake'... for instance that 2000 you posted it almost certainly real.

Good luck finding your first watch!

If you get a second, see if you can find out - we have a couple of shops in Brighton that list on Chrono, and it would be funny if it was from ours 😋

Yes thank you very Aquagraph I got the point about C24 and Ebay and it is what I was thinking, more reliable but take your precautions.
Yes I will post here (in the right tread) the photos of possible candidates watches for second opinions, and yes I do believe that going for an oldy one will increase my chances of having a real one and not a fake, in fact the clean and looking like new ones makes me a bit nervous, I know that some people will polish them before selling but in my head that maybe can means that can be no original or completely original.
