Wife's first TAG Heuer was a grey dial 2000, bought from eBay in 2003 I believe...
This photo must have been before I took it apart and cleaned it!

Also, you are making me regret letting that one go!
It doesn't get as much wrist time as I hoped and was thinking about selling it, but considering how much the new models cost I'm keeping it not to mention the cool factor. 😂

Purchased in 1987. I clearly remember the first time I saw the OG F1s in a store. I wasn't into watches, but the image of Prost's McLaren and all the bright colors captivated me. Hence began my journey with the then newly formed TAG Heuer.

I didn't remember I had gotten it that early. But in looking through an old photo album last year (amid the nostalgia from the KITH release), spotted its first appearance on my wrist during a summer vacation in '87. Which means I got it sometime earlier in the year.
This Heuer clock really should've been my first! I wanted one bad, circa '76-'77.
But being a kid, I didn't have the money and my mom would not allow it. She thought it was too expensive for what looked like a toy clock. Ironic, as 10 years later, I thought exactly the same thing when I bought my first Formula 1. 🤣

TAG / Heuer figures very, very prominently in my watch story, because my TAG and Heuer story is the beginning of my watch story. TAG and Heuer were the first three actual watches I had, all major milestones on their own:

My first actual (non-digital), nice watch. A Formula 1 3-hand quartz, received as a very generous holiday gift in 2006.

Then, after getting what I thought then was a very well-paid job in 2011, purchased my first nice watch, a Cal 12 Monaco. I went into the Tourneau near the office, intent on buying the Monaco 3-hander. Found in person that it wasn't square but a weird slightly rectangular shape, and it just sucked. But the chronograph looked awesome, and wasn't a whole lot more especially with their 0% APR financing.

My first automatic watch; my first chronograph. I was so excited, this photo from my cubicle at my office was also my first ever wristshot, long before I knew people actually did that!

And then a bit more than a year later, as I learned more about Heuer and their history - and found out that you could actually buy vintage, original ones - I fell in love with a particular design and bought this from a Gilt.com flash sale. This was also my first manual-wind watch.
(And completely got the timeline wrong of course; it was about late 1966 / early 67 production going by the serial number).

The rest of course is history 😀

Hand me down Tag Heuer 2000 (962.013) in 1995 by my first boss when I was just a kid running around 20th Century Fox.

I'm likely going for this one if it comes back!

I've had this one since 1990 on my 15th birthday. This was my first "real" watch after a few Casios and a Swatch.
Still have the original bracelet put away.

^Seems the Formula 1 is the gateway drug that hooked many of us on TAG Heuer. I counted 6 out of 20 so far.
