I spent the majority of my weekend just enjoying and obsessing over my new watch. (What can I say, I'm a watch nerd. LOL)

One thing I was careful to check on before buying was the glare issue that @abrod520 had been quite vocal about. I respect a lot of what Adam has to say, but I just wasn't seeing it. Sure there's glare under certain lighting, but nothing that out of the ordinary to me.

So today I compared my new Seamaster NTTD to two of my other watches, the Speedmaster FOIS and BB58. All three watches have domed sapphire crystals with AR coating only on the underside. I took these pictures in the same position, purposely in lighting to show glare. All three to my eye seem to reflect glare about the same.

But with a slight change in viewing angle, it's easy to get the glare to go away.

Could be that I was just more used to plexi or flat sapphire. But at least for me I just couldn’t accept it, and I think part of it was that the watch itself just didn’t appeal to me either. Meanwhile I went on to buy a standard 300M and it’s one of my favorites! So I think all that matters is that you enjoy it which it sounds like you’re already doing plenty 😉

Do all the Bond watches have the government issue arrow on them, or just this one? hadn’t noticed it before, could always tell where fitters at work got their tools from if they were arrow marked.
Congrats on the watch and on the upcoming birthday, better early than my usual belated messages.

Well finally after 2 years on the Waiting list it has arrived. Couldn't be happier with this one.
Slightly late 50th Birthday Present but hey I'm not complaining.
Very nice man!
I’m hoping to get the call for a no date next year.
Wear it in good health!

Regarding the government issue arrow, no they don't all have them. IIRC, I think the first Omega Bond to have it was the On Her Majesty's Secret Service 50th Anniversary Seamaster (a little odd because Lazenby's Bond wore Rolex). But we'll probably see the arrow more & more, since Omega must've gotten permission to use it.

Edit: On the OHMSS watch, the "arrow" is more like an Easter egg, a decoration that's somewhat hidden in the 12 o'clock marker. The NTTD is the first Bond watch to utilize the "arrow" as if it were a military watch issued by the British government. So in that sense it is the first time the arrow has been used that way. A bit controversial, since it's not a true government issued watch, but Bond isn't a true "real life" MI6 agent either.

I hear you. One of my other watches has a flat double sided AR crystal, it's so clear it seems like you could put a finger through it. And if you didn't get on with the NTTD, then things can irritate even more. Glad you love the standard 300M, I have a new found appreciation for them too that I never had before.

Yes I am enjoying mine immensely, I honestly wouldn't have given the crystal a second thought if not for your comments. One thing I have noticed is that because the dial details are all matte, it can look washed out under glare. But I also really love the all matte look of the watch, it looks modern but with a vintage vibe at the same time.

Thanks guys.
Appreciate all your good wishes.
I'm actually still on the Waiting list from AD.
I bought this unworn from a Grey Dealer for about 30% above retail.
Will be curious to see when and IF the call ever comes.
It seems almost impossible for a Bum like me to get a Rolex at retail here in Australia.

Congrats again Anthony! Just enjoy it! 👍
You're probably still far ahead with all the great deals (steals) you've gotten in the past! 😉

Thank you @Hubert! I've admired yours for quite some time!

I was also considering a Seamaster 300 heritage, like the one you recently got. But it didn't sit as well on my wrist, perhaps due to its longer lugs. I'm quite surprised at how well the 300M wears for me; similar to the Speedy Pro Moonwatch, it wears smaller than its 42mm size indicates. Plus the NTTD edition is thinner than the normal 300M at 13mm. I just love this thing! 😁
Very happy for you!

Thanks Albert.
Yes there isn't anything Tag at the moment that is tempting me.
Still waiting on the Carrera Panda.

Yes, I think this was a major part of it. Because on the standard one, any light the crystal reflects is caught by the hands as well - and often, the waves in the dial.

Considering this, diamond dial quartz Link. How many wrong words can I put in one sentence?

I liked the longines Diver, and the bristling diver fit very well. Wears much smaller than the size suggests

Like the ultra chron quite a lot. The breitling looks ok as well. I quite like the pics of the turquoise and orange dialled ones that I have seen.

my main issues with the breitling are that the price is quite high for a watch with a modified selita movement, and I’m not 100% sure about that minute hand….
