Well I did it. At $1900 for this brand new WV5111 it was just to good value to pass up.

My first modern Tag Heuer watch and the first new watch I鈥檝e bought in many years! A fine addition to my Heuer collection. The sound of new leather creaking when I took it out to wear and pealing off of the protective films was a very rare thing for me to experience 馃槑

Mine say hi to yours !

What do you think about it ? Isn't the Heuer calibre6 feels "different" in terms of its finishing ?

Congrats; nice choice. This is missing from my own collection.

Congrats. I've been tempted by that one too. May end up with one, or the Telemeter Cal 18 at some stage perhaps.

OK stop it with the calibre 6. I know it's a fantastic watch but now is not the time.

I鈥檝e got to say I find it hard to fault the overall quality. It鈥檚 sitting very nicely on my wrist and is filling the gap in my collection I wanted it to perfectly.

No pun intended 馃槈, although surely now is the time.

I've been offered a calibre 5 carrera WAR211A.BA0782, unworn in box with papers for 1200 euro. It would be my first 'understated luxury' watch as I usually tend to go for sporty watches and chronographs. Always liked the simple and clean design. Should I jump in?

I didn鈥檛 know the model, but just had a look on TH鈥檚 site and it鈥檚 a nice looking piece that I鈥檇 assume could be worn both a dress and casual watch. Price appears to be around what you鈥檇 expect pricing to be for a private seller, although several hundred below RRP. If you have a look on Chrono24 you鈥檒l see quite a few unworn ones for sale.

As a side note, there are quite a few ex-TAG Heuer people now working at Ulysee Nardin- CEO, Head of Marketing, etc.

I have something in the post... but my 'next' purchase will probably be an Aquaracer Chronotimer with a black dial.

Or the Calibre S Aquaracer with the yellow dial, whichever turns up first...

I have a new something on the way. Not a TAG I'm afraid, it's a vintage piece. Well 1990s anyway.

Snap, but mine is a TAG... well, obviously.馃榾

So it can't be a Heuer either then....

I'm not sure what mine will be. If the opportunity arises then a Monaco (CW211A), a Carrera (CV5111) or a Carrera (CAR2080) but these will obviously second hand.

The next new piece I would like is a Reverso, but that is some way off.
