Snap, but mine is a TAG... well, obviously.😀

So it can't be a Heuer either then....
Nope, not a Heuer. I almost bought a brand new Cal 18 Telemeter which came up at a really good price, but thought about it too long and somebody else bought it. The one on the way is a panda chrono, though.

Get both. But prioritize on the calibre11collaboration as it is limited as to compare to the calibre6. Full disclosure: i am not a endorser nor provocateur at any level.
I have something in the post... but my 'next' purchase will probably be an Aquaracer Chronotimer with a black dial.

Or the Calibre S Aquaracer with the yellow dial, whichever turns up first...
Had to look up what Calibre S is all about, never knew its functions before. Odd but kind of cool!

After many visit(s) to the Seiko store and failed to pick the one that really speaks to me, i gave up. (No disrespect to Seiko. It's a great watch. I like Credor or Presage but it's too much for what i want to spend on Seiko)

I took a detour to Swatch store and bam! 15 mins and i am out with this watch.

I guess i will still wait for my first Seiko. Until then i am gonna enjoy this green dial.

I'm not sure what mine will be. If the opportunity arises then a Monaco (CW211A), a Carrera (CV5111)

Two of my favourite recent heritage models. The gulf racing Monaco is very high up on my list. The CV5111 is a better and more correct than the WV5111 I recently bought, but at the price I paid I am very happy even though it’s not a chrono.

For my next purchase I’m still thinking a Submariner may be in the wings.

Calibre S is pretty cool, especially when you see it working - it's a bit complicated though, the lady in the TAG boutique got in a right pickle trying to demonstrate it... maybe that's why I didn't buy it when I had the chance!

I really quite like some of the simpler seikos, a mate has been wearing something like this for about 20 years, he replaced the original a year or two back with the current model because it finally stopped keeping time and it was much cheaper to replace than repair. It's a smart looking thing too, if they did a gmt I would definitely buy one as a beater https://www.amazon.co.uk/Seiko-Analogue-Automatic-Stainless-Bracelet/dp/B000KKO85S/

That is one nice looking Seiko indeed.

Like a few on this forum im looking forward to receiving this in a few weeks....

2018-Autavia-Jo-Siffert-Edition_2.jpg

Was expecting my next purchase to be something vintage... this has made me realise evaluate the direction I was moving in

To expand on this a little.

My wish list includes a range of heuer models (particularly autavia, L5100, ami and camaro) but also some aviation/engineer watches and some vintage/heritage divers

I have for some time been researching various vintage models - primarily heuer - and have been torn due to the gap between the price of those models I would really like (especially those in top condition) and what I'm prepared to invest in a watch that i could actually wear without fear!

I jumped on the siffert collectors edition (with some reassurances on size from forum members) as while not cheap it offered the siffert style at a considerable discount to the vintage equivalent with all the benefits of a modern watch. I had previously considered this out of reach in the near term.

When taking into account 'poor man's' models and some of the heritage reissue lines there is the potential to build a collection for a fraction of the outlay

If the forum is interested perhaps I will start a dedicated thread on the topic

Everyone here is working to some form of a budget, some greater than others. It's always good to hear someones thoughts and plans for building their collection.

Unfortunately for me, I had to pass on the Siffert Autavia due to the insane worthlessness of the Canadian dollar plus the insane taxes and duties that I may incur 🙁 However, I did manage to place an order over the weekend at my local Rolex dealer for the GMT to replace the Submariner that I sold last year.

Nice choice; although the Siffert is hard to beat IMO.

That said, I am almost set in getting a GMT this year. Just waiting to see the Baselworld novelties to decide which model!

That's very nice, I might take a look at one of those. I hadn't realised you can buy it with the Pepsi bezel.

I personally prefer the blue/black ("Batman") colors.

Agreed, my favourite GMT by far. Single peace of two tone ‘ceramic’ bezel is a one off.

DRF, You can only currently get the “Pepsi” in precious metal. There’s speculation it may be reintroduced at Basel in Stainless. However it’s unlikely Rolex will have both selling side by side. Not their style.

Oops, I meant to say 'without' the Pepsi bezel. I really like the plain black above, although the batman is a close second

You don't mind about the batman size ?

Size is not an issue with me. However, I just like those colors. I don't think I would buy the Rolex, but I would do it for a TAG Heuer model (not the F1).

I think Batman and Hulk are worth collecting. Especially if the rumors are true that they will stop producing both of em.
