Vintage 1985 Women's Tag

Hi guys, I'm new here, hoping to draw on your specialist knowledge, for which I would be very grateful.

I am looking to purchase a Tag for my lady for her 30th birthday. I have been looking at modern Aquaracers, used models as unfortunately my budget is limited.

However, I think it would be really nice if I could find a vintage model from 1985 (her year of birth). Several hours of googling have come up with not a great deal. If anyone could point me in the direction of dealers to ask or model names/numbers to look for, that would be very helpful to me.

This may be impossible, or out of my budget and I'll revert to plan A, a more modern piece. But I thought I'd give this a try.

Hello Ben, take a look at the "Catalogs" section on the main page of Calibre11.com, or here is the link to the 1985-86 catalogue:
http://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-catalogues/1985-6-catalogue/
You will notice that these watches are all "Heuer's", not TAG Heuer's in the catalogue;
1985 was a transitional year when Heuer became TAG Heuer, that might be the reason you can't find many 1985 "TAG Heuer's".

Yes, I did end up reading a lot of history of Heure/Tag Heuer for that year and less about the specific watch models available then!

I feel a bit dumb now, I searched this forum and not the main page/catalogues.

Ladies Aquaracers can be really good value used, gave my niece a quartz example that cost me about $500 and she's had it from age 7-13, never taken it off. They're remarkably durable and wear resistant too.

There do look to be some great deals around, though the Aquaracer is a nice watch, it is a modern one from 2004 onwards (I think).

The link provided above supplied me with loads of model numbers to search for, and I'm now looking to track down a good condition Heuer (not Tag Heuer) 2000 Series from 1985. Of this period the Ladies watches seem harder to come by than the Mens. I've found one or two, in the States. I don't mind buying internationally, but if I could find one here in the UK, that would be ideal.

Do keep in mind an '85 might not be water resistant any more and will be harder to get water resistant than a modern Aquaracer
