Great post! It’s made me remember how many great aquaracers I don’t own yet😁

Thanks Doug, yeah... there's a LOT to go at!

Now you just need to realise that the 300 professional WBP's are superbly amazing and that you need one of those too

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them in the metal, particularly the orange, but I just can’t look past the cyclops. Particularly when there are Aquaracers like these that I could buy instead:

Now this on the other hand…

I don't understand why those cyclope are okay but the new one isn't? It's less noticable and doesn't protrude. 😵‍💫

Yeah the new one is very discrete. But it is the shape of it being round instead of rectangular with rounded edges. People really hate when the cyclops aint a rounded rectangular

I personally can live with the interior cyclops at 6 much better than I could deal with an exterior cyclops

In photos it looks weird, in the hand I thought it was a great improvement.

The cyclops at 3 is just an ugly pointless cyclops, the cyclops at 6 is TH trying to make the 6 o’clock date a thing (and is also ugly and pointless).

I don't get why people don't like the date at 6.... when people prefer 3-6-9 sub dials. Date at 6 is more symmetrical. Personally I love the date at 3:30 but that's just me

I was being sarcastic. But it doesn't actually bother me, probably cos it looks like the dial has been spewed at random so it doesn't look out of place. 😁

Because it feels like TH are desperately trying to make an identifier for the Aquaracer with the 6 o’clock date to distinguish it from all the sub clones.

The AR has looked like some variant of this for 15 years, but all of a sudden it has a identifier so the guys in the shops can go ‘you can tell it’s not like the other sub clones because of the date position’.

I quite like the 3.30 date on the H01, the rest of the watch is so crazy it seems to fit in.

But the date isn't a defining feature of the Aquaracer so it doesn't bother me that they moved it. The bezel is the defining feature of the Aquaracer, everything else is changeable.

That's true. They did. I liked it better before, but they couldn't do ceramic with that I guess. It's still got 12 sides so it's okay. If they make it round then no, that's not cool and I don't care that the first Aquaracer was round.

Lots of the old ARs have ceramic bezels? Just the dual colour GMT and the green/red quartz that used ally iirc
