Is it quartz?

Was 6000 series a high end line? Since there were 1000, 1500, 2000, 4000...

Yes it's quartz (schoolboy error not mentioning that), and 6000 was a high end line. There were even some white gold models made I believe, I think if you search the forum you can find a picture of a white gold case with a gorgeous blue dial. There were also strap models, some of which were not so nice... I think once you take away the bracelet the case shape looks a bit odd.

I'd like to say 'well it was the 80s', but it was the 90s... quite a statement that's for sure!

There was also a Platinum 6000 which looks far more understated than those garish gold models. There was a bright green dial option for the gold model too.

How do you like the chronotimer? I was looking at that one on eBay. Tried something equally obscure on today - aquaracer countdown regatta timer...I like it.

I also tried on a Monaco 24, proving once again that I have to try a watch on to get a feel for it, its thickness wasn't an issue, but it didn't have the visual impact I expected it too from seeing it in the window. It also was too big for my skinny wrist, one for me to admire from afar I think.

I really like it, it's quite a chunky thing, but I don't mind that. Oddly it seems bigger than 43mm, it certainly wears bigger than my 44mm CAU2012 F1.... actually I'm surprised how much I like it (I know that sounds stupid), I wasn't expecting to be quite so taken with it.

Did you post before you were finished?

How does the chronotimer look with the displays off? One feature I like of the kirium and 2000 is you can't tell the are digital with the display off

Yeah I think I agree with you, the Monaco is lovely to look at, I'm not sure I would actually want to own it and wear it... not for the money.

Hmm, well... I'm pretty sure it's the same movement in the Kirium as the Chronotimer, and I must admit I never have the displays on with my Kirium. It looks so cool with that blank black face, but to me because of the frames the Chronotimer looks better with something displayed. I'm tending towards the full date at the moment (there's a number date as well).

Please post up a review of it once you've got used to it, would be really interesting to compare to the kirium too. I have a strange fascination with tags analogue/digital range

Funnily enough it crossed my mind to do a Chronotimer / Kirium piece, I think it would make for a good comparison.

Ugh, now I really start to miss my Autavia Heritage even more!
That's the pitfall of in-house movement isn't it ? I have a other brand watch with in-house movement as well went to service since one month ago. They need to sent it here and there because their mechanics is not familiar with the movement.

There are not a single day went by that i didnt think about it.
