The obvious gap from the range for me is a permanent, non-limited edition of the glassbox Carrera with a Heuer logo. I have no idea why they won’t add this to the range. Stick it on a beads of rice bracelet and you have a winner

I guess they don't have any confidence it will sell in sufficient numbers, I mean if it took 2 years to sell out the silver 160 that doesn't exactly inspire confidence does it? Especially when the LE model works so well, selling 600 pieces in a week is so much easier...

Isn't part of the problem, the standpoint that TAG Heuer is the entry level luxury watch, which 'suggests' it's something transitional, something that is bought only to be owned for a few years and then sold? Maybe TAG need to try to change this mindset, because at the moment it's getting dangerously close to being a Swiss made fashion watch.

Exactly. If they can't sell 1860 pieces of a watch so many consider perfect, then clearly the classic Heuer Carrera is not the cash cow people think it is.

Swedish backwaters aside, it's sold out in most countries, though, right? Certainly TAG don't have any left on the website and I haven't seen one advertised by an UK ADs since I bought mine a couple of years back.

    Am I just hopelessly poor?
It slightly perturbs me to see the new F1s described as 'aimed at the newb watch collector in the sub £5000 bracket'.
Is it reasonable to think a newb watch collector are willing to spend up to £5000 on a hobby they are just getting into?
To me £5000 is some serious sh*t!

Oh yeah. My dumbass that bought 50 watches instead of 5 Tudor/Rolex/Breitling/Omegas I suppose.

Kids these days don't want entry level anyway, they want mid-tier and up!

No offense intended. Merely observing that TAG might not be as big a deal in certain parts of Sweden as it is, in say, London.

    None taken bwoah!

What happens is this thing where unsold stock travels around the world. Remember back in 2020, no ad nor the Nordic TAG distributor were able to source me the ice king. I ended up buying it via UK because the few that were allocated to Sweden were sold out right away. Then as time passes, someone decides to ship unsold pieces from the bigger markets and try to get them sold in other places. Hence, sometimes a 2016 Monza pops up brand new for sale here. Recently a handful of ice kings.

I wonder who decides what gets sent where, the ad's make it sound like they have no saying. "Yeah weird we were sent this one, we thought it was sold out since way back" and then they are stuck with inventory they did not ask for.

OK, makes sense I guess. So who knows where it came from. But I guess it's normal for even high demand pieces to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I guess my general point was that just because there are one or two Ice Kings available to buy new in obscure places, doesn't mean it wasn't a success overall. 1860 pieces is a large number. Hype dies down quickly, and watches that really do "sell out" are usually made in lower numbers and sold through a limited number of outlets. Once something goes global to the AD network, there are bound to be pieces left unsold here and there.

I do love that you refer to Stockholm as an obscure place. But yeah in the grand scheme of this world I suppose it is
