Not sure why thatâs surprising. I mean have you heard the way they pronounce Daniel âCreggâ!?!
đ
Yeah we can't pronounce Daniel's last name correctly either, but at least we know who he is. In the full video, nobody knows who Senna is.
Apologies, I just couldnât help myself.
In fairness though, I wonder if many everyday people outside the US could tell you who the NASCAR drivers are?
Itâs just life I guess, much as he was a legend.
I have the Seiko A781 Racing Master, it seems to work but I don't know how to enter the length of the circuit to calculate the average per lap, what it can do... Who has a user manual? and Happy New Year 2025 to all
The question is where is the watch now? I'm pretty sure it's not in Chaux des Fonds. Unless it's hanging on the wall in the boardroom?
During my visit to the museum I forgot to ask. They have one in a display case, and 1 on the arm of a doll with a racing suit. Both not the og Senna.
Oh? I might be mistaken. I thought I read somewhere it had found its way into the TH Museum. If it's not there, then probably still in the hands of some private collector. I believe it was first auctioned in 2004 for about $12K. Then auctioned again in 2007 for about $69k. https://cars.bonhams.com/auction/15487/lot/50/the-ayrton-senna-tag-heuer-gents-wristwatch-1990s/
I'm not sure what happened after that.
According to a caption in this Esquire article, https://www.esquire.com/uk/watches/a63406204/inside-tag-heuers-dollar1-billion-formula-1-deal/ , Senna's S/EL S25.706C is in the TAG Heuer Archives (Museum).
I hope Esquire is not confusing Ayrton's personal 6000 Senna Edition Prototype, which was given back to TAG Heuer last year and now sits next to his helmet.
But if Senna's personal S/EL ana-digi is there too, I'd think it should be displayed next to his helmet as well or in some other prominent viewing spot.
