I don't think so, you can add it to your cart.
Some must have been released from the shopping carts, or TH may have decided to put the remaining ones allocated to the boutiques for sale on their website.

Seems to be available again. Save yourself $2750-QUICK! I was able to add multiples to my cart but made sure to delete them all again quickly.....

Maybe the choice of the reference is their main role. I don't think the Dato was high in TAG Heuer's priority list and we probably wouldn't have seen one. A few of the details I like and that might not have been so well executed without Hodinkee's oversight: slightly enlarged subdial as per the original, no applied markers at 3 and 9 and choice of white lume iso cream. I also think the black chapter ring is an improvement. Compared to the Dato the Fujiwara dial appears smaller due to the white ring. These details really make the design.
I agree with some of your points but still not sure what the direct involvement was. According to DC's article there were a couple of small points they were keen on...maybe it was initially to bring this model to the bench in the first place then...and slap their name on for brand-strength as Jim says.... a bit like Porsche.

The irony is not lost on your comment that a publisher saved this model execution (take the pun as you like) from the hands of the watch manufacturer.....

Probably not a choice, the date disk is where it is in the H02 architecture and moving it would be too much modification of the movement, is my guess.

I'm sure you are right, so to my mind they shouldn't have used the Heuer 02 movement if the case is too small

Yes agreed. Another movement would have also provided a quiet peace of mind for the owner 👍

I saw this little detail on TAG Heuer's website. 🙁
"This product delivery will start as of 03/22/2021"

Yet, on Hodinkee, it says 1-3 business days. 🤬

I noticed that too. Must mean they’re selling dealer’s stock?

That is strange. Means you get yours in one month Hubert?
I hope not!

Possibly. My guess is that Hodinkee is pushing for this to be sold-out today,

I don’t see the issue. The position of the date window is fine. In fact the H02 allows for a fatefull Dato tribute that wouldn’t have been possible with the Calibre 18 for instance. Just look at the Hodinkee Skipper.

Have "Added to CART" (just for fun), should I check out? Nope. This one is not for me. I'm not spending that kind of money on a one eyed jack. I need my two (or possibly 3) register panda!

Didn't they say something similar about the 160, while they shipped out? I think it might be an automated entry. They're in stock at Boutiques and should be shipping this week if not today

Is it next year or 2023? I'm also waiting for a 3 register panda or reverse panda.

I also have one of the Datos in my basket on the TAG Heuer site. Not going to check out, though, unless someone has a discount code? Thought not. 😀

The Autavia was launched in 1962, the Carrera in 1963 👍

I'm quite afraid of what TAG will try to foist on us for the Autavia's anniversary though

Actually, doesn't seem it'll let you check out with a UK address anyway
