If you thought the 160th Anni pieces were expensive, prepare to be reamed all over again.

And given it likely won't be available in the UK, that means adding on another 20-25% in vat and import costs. Shame as I would have been very interested in this.

Why do you guys have to pay taxes for these? Is it because of the leather in the straps or some other trade/tariff reason? Does it matter if say... I buy one for you and mail it over?

It's interesting filmography. I can't tell what's on the dial, but other than the plots and hour markers, it looks completely featureless. Which would be technically impossible considering it's a chronograph... I'm loving the suspense!

Oh man now Hubert will need to ban the social media person for leaking this embargoed information.

In the UK, we have to pay 20% UK VAT on all imported goods (although in theory we can buy free of local taxes).

Lucky, here its 25%. But zero add on if buying within EU which is a luxury you dont have anymore I suppose?

It can't be embargoed if it's been officially released 😀

My curiosity is piqued. I do hope they keep the price reasonable, if not I hope it doesn’t interest me - but to me most pieces they have released have had nice designs. Waiting patiently...

Correct, but again, in theory we can buy in the EU free from local VAT and have the UK VAT added on at import. Used to be much easier and transparent, though - pay the price you see and no paperwork. For pre-owned, though, no such luxury - you simply have to add 20-25% on to the price you see.

For that kind of VAT I’d jump on the Eurostar

The train would be heading in the wrong direction for this one, though. 😀

At least they dont have to be part of the future power maniac project of the United Nations of Europe that is trying to kill the national states. I think about 60% of new law here comes from Brussels already today...

Sorry for going off topic.

I am excited to see this mysterious new Hodinkee watch
