And then there's the Fragment solution:

How could he dare to delete 'swiss' from the dial! That's even nastier than to sacrifice the sweeping seconds 😉.

That's an interesting idea as well, not bad. Maybe even the "Heuer 02 - 80 Hours" could work there.

However, I think I've got a better idea 😎

Go on.... tell me it's unbalanced, and all old Heuers had some sort of text there. I'll fight you. lol

Maybe I'll remove the date function

^ Date is fine, just move the Swiss a little closer do the date frame.

I think it's in a decent spot, I realized that the dial was maybe a bit unbalanced with "SWISS MADE" all the way at the bottom so I wanted to place it somewhat centrally.

I'm quite happy with this "fixed" Carrera, so feel free to make your own variations for comparison 😁

Meanwhile.... I've gone ahead and had a bit of fun with it and turned it into an awesome fantasy piece, less elegant perhaps but something awesome. So awesome that instead of just sharing the design here, I'm actually going to reach out to Bamford et al to see if I can have it built!

I am thinking something like this (yours on the left, the edited on the right).

Right, either way I think it works much, much better than the design they actually released. For me I think I prefer the 'SWISS' a bit further up, to break up the date window's visual heft

Yes, I would even contest that the subdials would look better being recessed than with the protruding ring.

Aren't they recessed? Haven't seen it in person yet but from the renders and photos it seems they are.

I had actually considered reducing the size a little bit, as they look maybe a little bit too close together but it's not that bad.

The outer ring protrudes. Photos from Hodinkee.

I prefer the subdialls fully recessed.

Oh that's yucky. Hadn't noticed it.

Well I'm not sure I can visually represent it from a head-on perspective but let's say for argument's sake that my "fixed" Carrera has recessed subdials 😁

Love the design of this but I just find it too shiny overall. I guess this is the Elegant and they have the Sport as well, but the Sport is just too big (for me). Looking for a sporty Carrera that isn't a straight vintage reissue and isn't enormous.
